Sometimes life can be hell. But we get used to it. It becomes familiar to us.
And then there was you, looking down at the girl on the ground, I found them on the roof where I usually hide— I tried tapping the girl awake but she was still on the ground asleep.
"Hey...wake up." The male said, you haven't gotten his name but I introduced myself to him, the girl opened her eyes and looked around.
We both stood above her and she looked at me first, "Guess you're not dead after all." The boy said.
She scooted away from us with her knife still in hand, "W-Who are you both?!" she asked.
"Well, we should be asking you the same thing." I said while scratching the back of my head nervously, she started looking around.
"Where...where are we?" She asked, "Wipe the drool off your face and maybe I'll consider answering your question." The male beside me said.
He stood up and she wiped the drool from her mouth, "Name's Samael Keene your turn." Samael said.
"My names (Y/n) (L/n)." You told her, "I'm..." She trailed off.
"What? You forget your name or something?" Samael said, the girl looked at us, "Tee-hee~." I just sighed and looked down.
"Tee-hee, huh?" Samael said, looking at her, he kneeled down and grabbed her by the tie, "Do you understand the situation we're in right now?" He asked.
"Situation?" The girl asked confusedly, "What are you talking about? I don't even know where we are...besides, how do I know you both didn't kidnap me and drag me all the way up here? Why can't I remember a single thing? If you're not an enemy...please tell me what's going on."
I turned to her, "We're in the middle of an apocalypse." I told her.
"What?" She looked confused, I didn't explain any further as I looked down at my hands.
"I know I said I don't remember anything...but even I'm not dumb enough to fall for that." She said.
"Do I look like I'm here to play games? What (Y/n) told you is the truth, don't believe them? See it for yourself." Samael said.
She got up and looked over the railing to see a bunch of dead bodies.
"What-"
"Wait."
I turned to her in a panic, hoping it didn't see her, "Did it see you?" I asked.
"What? I-I don't think so..." she trailed off, "Good. Lock eyes with them then you're as good as dead." Samael told her.
She turned to me, "So you're telling me all this destruction was caused by...them?" She asked.
I nodded, "To put it simply, those things appeared outta nowhere and started attacking. Everyone tried to run. But...most weren't successful." Samael explained.
"Then what about help? There should be someone out there who's still looking for us!" Said the girl, I just looked at her and sighed.
"W-What?" She stuttered, I sat down, "it's been three months. If we were going to be rescued, it would've happened by now. All that's left out there are dead bodies and those monsters. We're probably the only ones left alive out here. It's best not to keep your hopes up." Samael said.
"Then...what are we gonna do? How are we suppose to survive this?" She asked.
"Well you don't have to. Why do you think you have a knife?"
"What?"
I turned to Samael and shook my head, he shrugged.
"Suicide. Maybe you were thinking about it before your amnesia. It's an option." Samael said.
"You..! You're encouraging me to kill myself?" She exclaims, why'd he have to say that, now he's got the poor girl panicking.
"If you're too afraid to face what's out there, then you might as well stay dead." Samael told her, "Besides...you being dead or alive is not gonna bring the world back anyways. It doesn't make a deference. Think about it. No one will know you're gone—"
"That's enough." The girl cut him off, "if you think I'm gonna give up that easily, you're wrong. Even if I can't remember them, my family and friends could still be out there looking for me! And you expect me to just call it quits without even trying? Forget it!"
I looked at Samael who looked was already looking at me, "Ah..is that so?" He said.
The girl jumped a little, "Where are you going?" She asked.
"Home. I'm tired from talking and I couldn't find any supplies anyways." Samael said, but then he stopped and turned towards us.
"You both comin' or what?" He asked, "Y-Yeah.." the girl answered.
