Chapter thirty-nine

I made my way outside, searching for Jane, seems like he already explained to Samael, Kenny, and Rayne about who he was and what happened.

I saw Samael get from his spot and he ran towards me and pulled me into a hug, I hugged him back.

Tomoha came out and I wiped the tears away from my eyes, still thinking about Navin.

"Tomoha, (Y/n)! You're both okay." Rayne said, "Where's navy?" Kenny asked.

I walked towards Kenny and grabbed the cross necklace that Kenny gave me and placed it in his hands.

"This is a joke...right?" Kenny asked, both me and tomoha didn't answer.

"What are you doing?" Rayne asked, "I'm gonna find him." Kenny answered.

"Wait." Samael stopped him, Jane stood behind and I turned to him, wrapping a hand around his waist, so he would be able to lean on me for support.

"...I can't leave him in there. Not with them." Kenny said.

"He's gone! We have to get moving!"

"NO!"

"Stop being so stubborn!" Samael yelled to Kenny, everyone stop when they heard a growl.

"Everyone, get in the jeep. Now." Samael whispered.

"Kenny." Rayne whispered, "...Fuck." Kenny said.

Everyone quietly got into the jeep, I saw the murk look at us but it wasn't following us.

"Is it tailing us?" Samael asked, tomoha shook her head, "I-I don't think so." She answered.

I sat next to Jane, pushing some hair out of his face, "Are you okay?" I asked, Jane nodded.

"I am fine." He answered, there was dirt sticking to his face, but once we got somewhere safe I would help him change into some new clothes.

Then my heart started beating fastly when I saw the same murk that locked eyes with me chasing after us.

The murk was about to hit us but Rayne got in front of me, Kenny, and Jane.

It slashed her in the back but she turned around with a glare.

I stopped chasing us and the jeep continued driving, "Rayne—!" I was about to yell but I was cut off.

"I'm fine. Just keep your eyes closed." Rayne said, "...Okay." Kenny said.
