Edwards POV

Edward jumped in the vehicle, but this time not as a passenger. Alphonse took the front seat. His face contorted in concern. He looked over at Edward, Al had never seen him like this. It was as if Edward was completely blaming everything that was wrong in the world on himself.

"Brother, it'll be okay" Al tried to reassure him.

Edward just sighed and started up the vehicle. "I'm sure the colonel won't mind us taking this for a ride" Edward whispered to himself.

They sped off onto the highway and towards Resembool. The sky was a deadly shade of black and grey, the thunder rumbled through the car like nothing they had ever heard before. It was truly dangerous weather. And the worst was running through Edwards head.

'What if the house was destroyed?'

'What if Winry and Pinako were stuck outside?'

'What if the baby was.....

Egh....'

Edward felt a tear roll down his cheek. If it wasn't for his stupid build up of pride then he would be there for Winry right now. Winry wouldn't be suffering through this alone. But Edward didn't have time to let his thoughts corrupt his mind, suddenly something walked out in front of the car. Edward slammed his breaks, but they were going too fast to come to a complete stop. They smashed into the object in front of them, Alphonse letting out a little adolescent scream. Edward stopped the car and got out, the wind nearly blew him off his feet. He trudged towards the the object, hoping it wasn't a person.

It was furry though

And breathing

And it pounced on top of Edward within the blink of his eye.

Winrys POV

The pain was like nothing Winry had ever experienced in her life. At times Winry wished she was dead. Pinako was doing everything she could to make it easier for Winry, but without the doctor she didn't know weather to do the birth herself.

"Please Winry try too relax, the doctor will be here any minute" Pinako told Winry, but she was more so just trying to convince herself.

Winry cried and cringed. She needed Edward there with her. She was at this point terrified that she and the baby would not make it through the night.

Edwards POV

Edward kicked the beast off and jumped onto his feet.

"Oh not you again! I haven't got time for you!" Edward yelled as he kicked the beast fair in the stomach.

Innocence cringed slightly and pounced at Edward, slashing his sleeve into pieces.

"Innocence no! Bad dog!" Aubreelle scolded. She walked up to innocence and tied her up in a chain. Innocence then relaxed and turned into her human form.

Edward brushed himself off and Alphonse jumped out if the car. "Aubre listen, my girlfriend is in labour and I have to go to her. So I'm going too let you go okay." Edward told the girl. Aubre clutched onto her leash, not completely believing what she was hearing. "But - but what about innocence?" She asked.

Edward looked up at the girl and looked her dead in the eye. Into those piercing yellow eyes. "She will stay with you. As a human only. I can't promise you the colonel won't come after you though, so run far away. Into the valley. As long as you don't hurt anyone...then I'm happy" Edward said.

Aubreelle beamed and hugged Edward tightly. "Oh thank you thank you so much!" She cried. Edward patted the girls back at looked at innocence.

Innocence looked at Edward and gave a small smile. He had never seen her smile before. It made Edward happy.

"Just go you two, stay out of trouble" Edward says, and he's jumps back into the car.

And as the two brothers speed off into the distance, innocence watches there dust trail become smaller and smaller. It was a quick departure, but innocence was truly great full for Edwards forgiveness.

"Edward I wish you luck"

Winrys POV

Winry couldn't hold back anymore. It was too much for her little fragile body to take. She was loosing her will and hope. Her strength fizzled out like a wild fire in a storm, a spark never to ignite again. Her lover wasn't there to hold her hand and stroke her hair. And this was too heartbreaking for Winry. The only human being who could ever calm her and make her believe that everything was alright; could for all Winry knew, be dead.

Pinako could see Winry giving up. The old timer had to do anything she could to save her and the child.

"Winry don't you dare close your eyes" Pinako pleaded. "Please think of your baby, I promise Edward will be fine"

Winry cried. "I can't - I can't do this without him" she cringed as another wave of pain overtook her.

Pinako squeezed her hand. She could feel Winry loosing strength. She didn't know what to do. She knew she had to deliver this baby though.

"Winry, where going to deliver This baby okay?" Pinako said.

Winry moaned and started to push. The pain was unbearable. She just wanted to give up.

It was over for Winry.

At this point, nothing could possible keep her going.

Nothing but....

A blond pipsqueak barging into the house.

"Winry! I'm here!" Edward frantically yelled. He ran into the lounge room and found her beautiful girl on the couch. She looked almost dead.

Edward couldn't breath. It was as if he had been hit in the stomach with gods biggest wench. His heart ached seeing her like this.

"Oh Winry baby...I'm so sorry" he nearly cried.

"Oh quit ya blabbering and help her!" Pinako scolded him.

Edward shook himself out of his trance and kneeled sown besides Winry. Winry slowly opened her eyes and smiled. "I knew you'd be here" she breathed heavily. Edward stroked her hair and kissed her forehead.

"I promised you didn't i?" Edward whispered. Winry cried tears of joy. Having Edward here and knowing he was alright was enough to give Winry her hope back.

"Alphonse! go get me warm water and towels, where going to deliver this baby" Pinako said rather proudly.

*bang*

Pinako turned around only to find Alphonse passed out in the hallway.

God damn it Alphonse.
