Yukiko's P.O.V

Gifted? More like cursed.

I realized I was immortal when all my friends started aging around me, while I didn't change. Technology changes so quickly, too. I looked around the dark alleyway. I haven't checked on my friends. I know they're gone by now. It hurts... but it's safer to be ignorant.

"Hey, girl~"

"Come on, pretty lady~"

Freaks. I put up my black hood, my long black hair flowing in the wind. My ice blue eyes stayed set ahead, me gently pinching the few strands of periwinkle blue hair in between my fingers. I felt someone put their hand on my shoulder, me stopping. I twisted the heel of my heeled boots off the ground.

"Why are you going so soon?"

I quickly looked at him, winding my body around and kicking him hard enough to make him hit the other side of the alley, the rain making the spot I kicked begin to freeze. Suddenly what seemed like a hundred men came out of the smaller alleys, me, spinning around, trying to keep my eyes on all of them.

"I am Morax. If you're ever in trouble, call my adepti Xiao."

No, I'm sure he has more important things to do. I made two balls of cryo energy, them all flinching, one unfazed.

"I wonder how much she'll sell for."

"I'm not for sale." My voice cut through the air.

"Oh, a sharp tongue~"

"You men are disgusting." I grumbled.

I put my hands against the ground, the water on it freezing as they all ran at me, them slipping. I stepped over them, smashing some heads into the ground on my way. I took out my phone, looking at the time. Damn, it's already midnight? I was just going on a stroll. I saw some boys dangling a phone above a girl's head. I sighed and put mine in my pocket, walking over.

"Hey, can you assholes give that back to her?" I shouted.

"Aww, what are you gonna do about it, pipsqueak?"

I opened my hands, quickly dispelling cryo as I said, "Boo."

Their hoods froze to their head, the one dropping her phone as they ran. I caught it, handing it back to her. I saw someone ride past quickly on a motorcycle, my mind stopping as I quickly looked at them. All I saw was the green and black of their hair, mine whipping around from the wind they had created. I was so zoned out that I didn't realize the girl had slipped a hundred in twenties in my pocket as a thank you.

I looked at the money, sighing. What is this to me, anymore? Money doesn't really matter, especially when girls like that insist on giving you money for helping them. I looked up at the road. That man... who was he? I felt myself instinctively start jogging in the direction he drove off, knowing damn well he could be on the other side of the city by now. I stopped at a small market, realizing his bike was parked. I started looking around, seeing the glint of teal from his hair. I walked over, seeing he was having trouble paying for some breads.

"Here, let me get it." I handed the money to the cashier.

"Wow, two hooded people at once..." He sounded a bit frightened.

"Don't worry, I won't hurt you unless I have to."

My words seemed to cut right through him, him nodding. "Yes, I'll be no problem."
