Another surprise ahead was that Laura was more than willing to host a movie night for the choir. I saw Laura almost as more of a friend or even an older sister than my boyfriend's adoptive mother. I mean, she was only twenty-three. It did, however, make it a bit difficult to make your mom jokes to Mischa.

Tom was still a bit apprehensive about the whole change, but he was getting better. He even managed to crack a few jokes while he met the rest of the choir.

Tonight, we were going to watch Home Alone. Laura even made snacks, which Tom almost didn't let us eat on the couch.

Maybe a third of the way into the movie, I laid down on one of the couches. Even though it was comfortable, it wasn't a long-lived comfort. I looked up for a moment to see Mischa looking down at me.

"Do you need something?" I asked him.

He just blinked and then laid down. On top of me.

"Misch! You are crushing me!" I gasped out, laughing. "Get off!"

He wrapped his arms around my waist. His hair was resting on top of my collarbone, which I couldn't imagine being comfortable.

"I am crushing you with love."

"Shh! Stop being gross! I'm trying to watch the movie!" Ocean exclaimed.

Noel hit her arm lightly. "I think they're adorable."

"Love or not, I can't breathe!" I coughed.

He shifted around a bit. "Can you breathe now?"
"A little bit. You can't even see the movie."

He attempted a shrug. "I have better view."

I glared at him. "You little motherfucker."

"I meant your face!" Mischa corrected himself.

"Really?"

"No," he admitted. "But your face is a good view too. Also I have a real bed now, so-"

"Not a chance, Bachinski," I stopped him.

"Worth a shot."

We watched more of the movie, and then I realized that Mischa was asleep and so was my left arm.

"Noel!" I hissed. He looked over. "Noel, he's asleep! Help me!"

He held up a finger. "Wait."

Noel took out his phone and took a picture of Mischa and I. I glared at the camera and attempted to point at Mischa. It was difficult given the fact that my left arm was stuck in between the couch and his side.

"Help!" I whispered.

"Why? What am I supposed to do?" He laughed.

"I can't feel my arm."

"Okay, and?"

"I don't want to wake him up!"

Noel sighed and paused the movie, much to everyone else's disdain.

"MISCHA BACHINSKI. WAKE UP!" He shouted.

"Noel, what the hell?" I sighed, exasperated.

Mischa lifted up his head groggily. "What?"

"No, it's okay. You can go back to sleep. Can I sit up first?"

He looked at me, confused. "That is a funny question. No."

He went back to sleep.

"You're too nice, Y/n," Ocean shook her head.

"I know."

I ran my fingers through his hair and I heard him make a small noise.

"Do you want me to stop?"

He shook his head. "No."

Finally, the movie was over. He was still fast asleep.

I tried to move, but he just held onto me tighter.

"Mischa? Can I get up?" I whispered.

He didn't answer, obviously. He was asleep.

"That's not how you wake someone up," Noel told me.

"Of course you know."

"I do. Watch this," He took a deep breath. "Badegg on Youtube sucks!"

Mischa stirred and finally began to sit up very, very slowly. "What?"

"Nothing. Don't worry about it."

He grumbled. "I want to go back to sleep now."

"How about you go to bed?" I suggested

Mischa shrugged. "I don't want to."

I stood up and stretched. I held out my hand for Mischa. He accepted and pulled himself to his feet.

"Here we go. Come on."

I guided him to his room.

"I don't want to go to bed," He repeated.

"You're tired, Misch. I can tell."

He mumbled something unintelligible in Ukrainian under his breath. "No. I can be awake. I want to be awake so I can see you."

"I've got to go soon. It's almost eleven."

Mischa frowned. "I don't like that. Stay here."

"I would, but my mom would not appreciate that as much as you would," I answered.

He didn't respond, per se, but he did pretty much pick me up and drop me on his bed. Before I could get up, he wrapped his arms around me. I laid there for a moment in his arms. In a few minutes, I realized he was asleep. I somehow escaped his grasp and pulled his blanket over him.

"Goodnight. Love you," I whispered before giving him a kiss on the forehead.

"Mhm," He mumbled, half asleep.

I smiled and left the room, closing the door behind me.
