"hello chat!" karl says enthusiastically as he starts the stream. i don't say anything, instead i just sit still and smile at the stream. "this is haven with me! if you watched mr. beast's new video you'll know who she is. and if you didn't watch it... go watch it! after this stream, of course."
i find it amusing how lively karl is while on stream. even though he's always energetic and happy, it's even more noticeable right now.
"hi guys," i say, giving a small wave. i can see a chat whizzing by, and i point at it. "what's that?"
karl snorts at my question.
"that's chat, the people i just addressed. they're the people watching the livestream."

my phone suddenly starts ringing on my desk next to me. karl stops talking and i look at him. he motions for me to see who's calling, so i do.

"jesus christ..." i mutter quietly. "i'd put money on the line that she's watching this stream."
"you gonna answer it?" karl asks with a laugh.
"no." i press the big red decline button, and watch as texts start pouring in after that.
