So, I initially wrote this forever and an age ago (2017). At the time, I wasn't exactly expecting it to be a two-part series until somewhere towards the end of writing the first half (I think - it was several years ago). Anywho, I was in the midst of another binge of the BBC's Merlin series and, as it usually happens, I had a daydream that turned into a story.
Going back through it, I realized it needed some cleaning up. I was a bit messy with some of the politics regarding the elves (I can now humbly thank a rather combative commenter on FF.net for that - kinda... still didn't need to be so combative about it, sheesh). Worked through some of that back then and did more work on it this time around. Did some general cleaning up in other areas because my writing has definitely grown since then.
And now we get this. I hope you all enjoy!
Also, I don't own any of the characters or storylines from the TV series Merlin - that's all BBC - though the legends of Merlin, Arthur, Camelot, and everyone in that world is public domain, I believe. However, I do own all the characters I created and the plot and such of this story. It is only posted here, on AO3 (username Rubberduckz84), and on FanFiction.net (Rubberduckiez). If you see it anywhere else, it's stolen. I give no one permission to repost or to publish this story. It is a read-for-free story (because it's straight-up fanfiction).
I only post that because I recently had to get this story taken down from Amazon by some bogus publishing company that stole 100s of fanfictions and then tried to make money off them. Don't do that people. It's wrong. Give credit where it's due and put in the work to write your own damn book.
