"Hello!" I called out for, what seemed, like the one thousandth time. My throat started to rasp and the heels of my feet felt sore, "Hello!"

I have been walking for what it seems like six to seven hours now, completely disassociated from myself, and desperately searching for anyone that can tell me what was going on. I started to wander into the alleyways of Tokyo, shops lined the narrow pathway and the dark night has overtook my sight.

I plopped down on a small two-step staircase in front of a toy store. The pain rushed into my feet, feeling those hours and miles spent walking. My throat itched and it begged for water. I took the deepest inhale I could, focused on making salvia in my mouth then proceeded to swallow whatever liquid my glands had made.

I slightly turned my body to look at the store behind me. I thought, "There should be something to eat or drink... even if it's candy or some other sugary sweet."

I forced myself to stand up once more, and tried to push and pull the door. It did not budge. I tried again. Still nothing. I huffed and I started to scavenge the ground, looking for a heavy rock or a brick. A piece of cement was uplifted from the sidewalk since the roots of the vegetation lifted it up. With both hands, I squatted down and cupped each side of the cement. With my legs, I pushed the ground away from me and behold... the large piece of cement is in my hands. My knees started to wobble and my hands started to lose grip.

I started to breathe heavily and braced myself, emotionally and physically. I rocked my body back and forth. One swing... Two swing... Three swing... Now!

I put all my energy into my arms and used the momentum to launch the piece of cement into the window of the toy store.

"Yes!" I pumped my fist in the air, but my celebration was cut short as I slightly tripped over my own feet. I regained my balance, then sighed, "That took all my energy out of me."

I took one step toward the window... and before I could make another, a beam of light illuminated the alley way. The sudden flash of light made me turn away but once I slowly turned back... the light seemed to be coming from behind the store. Again, with impulse, I started to find my way toward the back of the toy store.

After a short walk, I came upon the loading dock and one of the two loading dock doors were opened, inside was a bright light that illuminated part of the dock. There were also a handful of people.

My breath quickened and my feet dashed into the illuminated space in order to group up with them. An electronic sound beeped as I went inside and now I see a small white table with phones neatly in rows.

"One per person," The sign on the table read, "Do not step into the darkness."

I breathed heavily, turning my head to look at the people around me... they looked scared. There are six people in here, including me. Some are standing with their head up high, waiting, others are clutching the phone, one that got off the table, close to them.

"Excuse me," I said in a soft voice, but the empty space around us made my voice loud and ring out through the building, "What is going on?"

A middle aged lady, who was clutching their phone, gave me the side eye and turned away. The hairs on the back of my neck stood up.

"You're new, huh?" A man with a fedora came up to me. I nodded, unsure of what I am new to. He continued, "We are in a different world. One that is also a mystery, no one knows why or how we got here."
