Boo Yongju and Boo Ye-rin finally reached town. They were supposed to head straight to his place but his sister complained that she was famished, so he suggested they head instead to the ramyeon house.
He uttered a silent prayer hoping no one else from Doldam was visiting the place this evening. He didn't need anyone else to meet his sister.
He dropped a quick message to Nurse Oh asking her to meet them at the ramyeon house after her shift that night. He also reminded the nurse to wear their ring once she left Doldam. There was that unfamiliar feeling again in his gut when he typed 'their ring' in his message to Myungsim. For now, he didn't have the time to dwell on it, but instead he focused on his task at hand.
The nurse agreed and told him she'd be there by 7. She also confirmed that she had the ring with her and would wear it as soon as she switched to her normal clothes and left the hospital.
Reading Oh Myungsim's reply, Yongju couldn't help the smile that etched on his face. He wasn't sure what's gotten into him, but he seemed to be truly enjoying their current set up.
He informed his noona that Oh Myungsim would join them as soon as her shift ended. Boo Ye-rin nodded and smiled, actually excited to finally meet the woman who won her brother's heart. She fervently hoped there would be no issue and that this Oh Myungsim woman would actually win her approval. She trusted Boo Yongju's taste, and frankly, she would gladly welcome any woman at this point for her brother. Still, it would be nice if her sister-in-law was someone she could get along with.
They reached the ramyeon house and made their way in. The place, thankfully, was quiet and no one else was there other than Nam Do-il. The anaesthesiologist greeted them with a warm smile and pleasantries as soon as they came in.
After the introductions were made between Nam Do-il and Boo Ye-rin, the older woman requested for ramyeon and a glass of soda, and then asked where the washroom was. Kim Sabu pointed to the corner where the washroom was located and then selected a table for them.
Do-il prepared the things he needed but before he continued doing so, he went to Kim Sabu to check how their plan was going.
"Everything's OK so far–Sussaem will meet us here after her shift," Kim Sabu replied. He was a little anxious even though so far, everything had been going according to their plan.
Do-il tapped him on his shoulder and gave him a thumbs up. "That's good–I see you're also wearing your wedding ring, huh," he chuckled as he eyed the gold band Kim Sabu was wearing on his left hand.
Yongju rolled his eyes but also smirked. "I'm a married man, Do-il, of course I'm wearing my wedding ring," he jibed. It was a good thing his nerves had died down in the meantime and he could make fun of the situation.
Do-il was going to reply with a snarky remark but was stopped short when he noticed Ye-rin came out of the washroom. Instead, he tapped Yongju on his shoulder once again and made his way back to the kitchen. He also gave Ye-rin a small smile when his eyes met with the older woman as the latter made her way to their table.
Boo Ye-rin sat across Yongju as her gaze traveled the little ramyeon house. The restaurant was truly small compared to the restaurants she frequented in the US, but despite its size, one couldn't ignore the cozy vibe the place had. Soft jazz music could be heard in unison with the simmering of whatever the owner, Nam Do-il, was cooking. It smelled good and the music choice was also good. She hated to admit it but she was slowly falling in love with the homey feel of the place.
She then shifted her eyes to her brother who was busy with his phone. She thought he was texting with his wife, which the older woman found endearing. She eyed her brother's face and could see that he's aging well. He had a few wrinkles here and there but he managed to stay in shape, and he really looked good. There was also an air of lightness around him, which she didn't see when she last saw him about six years ago. She attributed it to his current life at Doldam and the fact that he's finally found the woman he'd spend the rest of his life with. Now if she could only manage to convince him and Myungsim to have kids or even just a kid, their life would surely be perfect.
