Chapter 20

Cera’s POV

When I woke up the next morning, Katrina was standing over me. The rest of the people in the cabin I was staying in kept looking at us nervously, but I was used to it. She was always up as soon as the sun rose, but she didn’t go to bed until like midnight. I sat up, groggily and rubbed my eyes.

“Something happened last night.”

“What do you mean?!” I asked, snapping awake, you see, we thought it the best not to mention it to the other girls, but sometimes Katrina gets… visions. Either when she’s really bored or sleeping she gets dreams of things that are going to happen and they always come true. She also gets “hunches” it’s kind of scary sometimes, but I’m used to it by now.

“Kaiti gave birth.” She said, in a bored tone, “It’s a baby girl. She’s perfectly healthy, and she’s going to let us all help her name the baby. We’re going to name her Rune Aslan Springer.”

“Springer?” I asked, curiously, “Yes. That’s Kaiti’s last name.” she answered, “She looks exactly like Kaiti and her hair will grow just as fast.”

“You are so creepy sometimes.”

“I know, I take pride in being creepy.”

I sighed, “Where is she. We should probably go pretend we didn’t know any of this and be shocked.”

“I don’t know…” she hesitated, “I have a feeling we’re going to be with the other ‘special’ girls a lot. I think we should tell them about my visions.”

“If you want to that’s fine with me.” She nodded, and we headed off to the infirmary. We walked hand-in-hand towards the large building that held Kaiti’s new-born child, and people smiled at us the whole way, well… most people. Some of the campers (Mainly from the Aphrodite, and Ares cabins) gave us dirty looks and called us certain words that shall not be repeated. I did see one girl with red hair punch a guy who used one of those not-so-nice words. I smiled at her, and she smiled back while pushing the guy to the ground and kicking him in the stomach.

When we reached the infirmary Katrina led me straight to Kaiti’s room. We walked in and found Thalia, and Annabeth asleep on some chairs in the corner, while Kaiti sat on the bed, looking awestruck at the baby sleeping in her arms.

“She’s so cute!” Katrina gushed, and Kaiti looked up, surprised, “I know you’re debating on Rune, Emily, or Elizabeth and that you’re going to let us help you decide, so personally my vote goes towards Rune, I also think that Aslan is an amazing middle name for her.” Kaiti looked shocked, “How did you-“ Katrina cut her off, “I can also tell the future sometimes.”

“Speaking of which,” I asked, “Did you find out who my godly parent was last night?” Katrina glared at me, “No! I was too busy watching Kaiti give birth!”

Thalia had woken up, and snickered loudly from the corner.

“Don’t worry, you’ll find out soon enough.”

“Yup,” said Katrina, “During capture-the-flag tonight, which by the way, Kaiti, you will not be participating in.”

“Wow!” I protested, “You can find out when I will be claimed, but not by whom!?”

“Pretty much,” she smirked, “But you love me anyways!”

I mumbled a few insults under my breath, and she stuck her tongue out at me.

“Even if I did know, I wouldn’t tell you.”

“What?! WHY!?” I demanded

“Because. It should be a surprise,” she smirked again, “and by the way, I lied about not knowing who your father is.”

“HA!” I shouted, “YOU SAID FATHER! It’s a boy!” she pouted, “Shoot… you weren’t supposed to find out…”

“Wait!” yelled Thalia, efficiently waking up Annabeth, “I’m confused, do you know who her parent is, or not?”

“Yup.” Answered Katrina, while I glared at her.

“I told you, you’ll find out tonight at capture the flag!”

“Can both you guys be quiet before you wake the baby!” hissed Kaiti, “She just got to sleep, and I don’t want her to wake up again!”

We nodded, sheepishly, and Annabeth went to go get Madeline, MacKenzie, Alii, and Caitlin.

A few minutes later they walked in, and we decided to figure out what to name the child.

“I’m thinking Rune, Emily, or Elizabeth.” Said Kaiti, “And I think the middle name should be Aslan.”

“Her full name will be Rune Aslan Springer.” Said Katrina, then turned towards Annabeth, “and yes, I think you should name your child Savi. Very nice, considering that Savi means wise in Catalan.” Annabeth’s draw dropped, “How did you know what I was thinking about?!” she demanded, and Katrina stared ominously at us all, “The voices tell me things.” She said, seriously.

The girls looked freaked out for about five seconds before me, Kaiti, and Thalia burst out laughing.

Katrina smiled, “I didn’t tell you all my powers, I can also turn into a fox, and tell the future.”

They looked relieved, “And now that it’s settled and we all like the name Rune, I think you should Tell MacKenzie and Caitlin that you decided to make them your daughter’s God-mothers.”

Caitlin and MacKenzie looked shocked, and Kaiti smiled, “I decided it this morning. Of course, you guys can all help me take care of Rune, but MacKenzie and Caitlin will be her official godparents.”

We all smiled at each other and Annabeth went to go get Chiron, so we could discuss things such as living arrangements and what to do with the Rune’s father.

“I don’t know,” said Kaiti, “I think that you should just lock him in a room with Alii for a half hour. That would be a pretty bad punishment.” I snickered, and Alii looked at Chiron hopefully.

“As much as his actions sicken me,” he said, regretfully, “He did not umm...” Chiron stuttered

“Rape me,” said Kaiti, helpfully,

“Yes… well he did not do it on the camp grounds, so I can’t officially punish him.”

We all protested loudly, “However!” he said, ignoring our complaints, “I may decided to ignore any… punishments, you girls seem fitting to give him as long as no permanent damage is done.”

Alii smirked, “Does that include mental damage as a result of being tortured to the point of insanity?”

Chiron tried to give her a disapproving look, but his eyes were twinkling, “Yes my dear, I’m afraid it does.”

She sighed dramatically, “What about living arrangements, where will Kaiti stay, because we want to stay with her and help take care of Rune.”

“Well,” he answered slowly, “it seems the gods have already taken care of that problem.”

“What do you mean?” I asked confused.

“Well, just this morning, a new cabin appeared down by the beach. It has eight rooms, one of which has a crib, and one of which is undecorated.”

Katrina smiled, “I call the room painted yellow with the balcony, and Cera gets the one beside it.”

“What does my room look like?” I asked

“It’s bright blue and our rooms are attached with a door between them.” She winked at me, and Chiron cleared his throat and blushed.

“Well, you girls better get your stuff, you’ll be moving into your new house today, but before you go, the rest of the camp should be up by now. What do you guys want to tell them about the… errm… situation.”

Kaiti stould up bravely, cradling her newborn daughter, “I’ll tell them the whole story.”

Author’s note.
