Slowly waking up, I feel wires connected to my back and neck. I started panicking. This is just like the vision of Scaramouche I saw. I look around and see myself in the same void that he was. I then turn my head while looking around and see him. He's not awake from what I saw, so I started to figure out what to do. I'm in the machine. I know ripping the wires will hurt like hell but I have no other choice. I look down to the floor and I don't see very many people, just a few scholars. I check and feel my sword still there.

Ok, I'm gonna do it. Jump down, fight them off, and run out. I can do this.

I grab the wire connected to my arm and i'm about to pull it out before someone's hand stop me. "That'll hurt. A lot. I wouldn't recommend you do what you're thinking." That voice tells me. I looked up and see Scaramouche covering my hand. "I don't care. I'm not going to be that Akademiya's pawn. You do you but I'm leaving. I'll go through pain to get back." I say before ripping the wire out. I hold back a scream because it hurts so bad. Don't think. Just tear it out. I do the other arm and rip that one out. I grunt this time and move onto my back. There's three on my back. "Y/n don't. I know you hate the Akademiya but you're going to seriously hurt yourself." He says grabbing my wrist. I yank my hand away. "Since when did you care. You should be happy I'm torturing myself to get out of this machine. I'm voluntarily putting myself through immense pain. Shut your mouth." I say tearing the worse out of my back. "Gah!" I yell. He was right though. It hurts a lot.

"Y/n please! Just leave it be!" He shouts but I ignore him. I grab the wire at my neck and rip of out, and scream. I start to fall but I pull out my sword and once close enough to the floor, I plunge. I fight off the scholars with ease and sprint out of the Akademiya. I can hear people running after me but I run and run. I run until I loose them. It's late at night but Aether should still be awake, so I go to the inn we're staying at. It's hard to walk because of the pain. My vision blurs a little but I keep going. I see the door and shove it open. "Y/n!" Paimon shrieks as I fall to the floor. "You're...bleeding?!" Aether says shocked. "W..What? I cant bleed I'm a puppet." I say but I look at his gloved hands, red with blood. I try to stand up but fall right away. "We need to get you some help. Come on, I'll carry you." Aether says while lifting me onto his back. He starts to go somewhere but I pass out before we got there.

I open my eyes slightly to see another dark void. I panic again. Am I back in the machine? Where's Scaramouche? Where am I? I start to ask myself hundreds of questions before I feel a hand on my shoulder. I reach for my sword but it's not there. I turn around and see..a little girl?

"You don't need to worry anymore. You're safe." She says. "What are you...what?" I say breathlessly. "Listen. You're stronger than you think. The Akademiya want you so that they can use your power to fuel their newest creation. Keep fighting back Y/n." She says softly. My vision fades as she starts walking away.

I wake up to Paimon's shrieks. "Is she ok?!" Paimon yells as Aether tells her to be quiet. I groan and open my eyes. "Oh! Y/n! Are you ok?" Paimon asks. "I'm fine. Where's my hat?" I question. "You didn't have it when you came to the inn last night. I'm sorry but I don't know where it is." Aether says. "It's alright. I'll find it eventually. It's probably in the Akademiya somewhere." I say catching their attention. "That's right! Where do you go? What happened?" Paimon asks. I'm about to explain before I hear a voice in my ear. "You can't tell them." It say over and over again. It was bothering me so much that I just said I couldn't take it and just said I couldn't tell them.

We go into the city and wonder around, looking at the stalls. I feel like something's off and I can tell Aether feels it too. We go to Lambad Tavern and Aether orders Coconut Chocolate cakes. I wonder why until I remember that's what we got when we first met Dunyarzad and Dehya. He takes a bite and recalls the taste. I don't understand why he did that but I'm sure he had a reason. I can tell Paimon notices something is off too. Ww walk out of the tavern to try and do something else, until I notice Dunyarzad sitting on a bench. "Quick. We need to go to the Heand Bazaar." I say urgently, pulling Aether by the wrist. We arrive and see Nilou getting scolded by Azar and Setaria again. I don't even try to intervene. The three of us go back to the inn and go to sleep.
