- Aether's POV -

I don't have a good feeling about this. Both of them disappeared into the tree and I don't know where they are. "Nahida!" I yell. She comes back kind of glitchy but I can hear her. "Take us out. There's been a situation!" I yell. We get teleported back out and back into the Sanctuary. "What happened? Where are Y/n and Scaramouche?" She asks. "Well...basically he changed the past and they disappeared into the heart of Irminsul." I explain. "That's not good. Stay here and I'll handle this myself." Nahida says before disappearing as well. To pass the time, Paimon starts to talk about food. I don't really know but sometime while she was talking, I either fell asleep or passed out.

I open my eyes and I see I'm back in Inazuma. "What-" I look up and see the Shogun walking down stairs made of Electro.

I've been here before...

This is when I met Y/n. I look down and see Thoma tied up in ropes just like the first time this happened. I don't do anything because maybe I'll be able to see Y/n again if I let this play out. The Shogun takes his vision and right before she grabs it, a familiar hat flies into view and a person takes it from her. "I haven't seen you in a while." She says and the person stands up slowly. Please tell me that's Y/n...that's the outfit she wore..Looking at the back of them, I don't see Y/n's long hair. Instead, I see Scaramouche's familiar hairstyle. "No.." I mumble. "Taking harmless people's vision just for your sick vision of eternity? Nothing will ever be eternal." He spits at her. Guards comes running at him but he takes fist and cleanly knocks them out. I guess not everything can be completely the same. Y/n used her sword but he just used brute force. The Shogun teleports herself and Scaramouche into a different realm and I wait for when they come back because I know what to do.

After some time, they fade back into view and as I expected, he's lying on the floor completely unconscious. Paimon flys over to him and tries to shake him awake. The shogun walks over to him and is about to end him using her sword.

If I'm back in Inazuma..I have to live these months I already have again. With a different partner. Scaramouche lies there, unmoving, while the Shogun is about to kill him. "Untie Me! We don't have much time!" Thoma yells and I quickly untie his restraints. Thoma looks up and throws a nearby spear at the Shogun to knock her off her balance. Scaramouche flies back and we flee to a far distance in the city, assisting him in the process. "Who are you?" Thoma asks. "Scaramouche. Nice to meet you." He says while regaining his balance and shaking Thoma's hand. "And you're the world famous traveler and his mascot. Nice to meet you." He turns his attention to us.

This feels so wrong...

"Are you alright? Why so pale all of a sudden?" He asks while putting his hand on my forehead. "Sorry. A lot has been happening lately.." I tell him and he nods. "Well I'm going to accompany you for the rest of your Inazuma journey. I know this city and nation better than the Shogun herself. You'll be safer with me." He explains. "Yeah that's fine let's go." I say quickly, catching his attention. "Trusting a stranger so quickly? I thought I would have to convince you for three days straight but I guess not.." He says. That's what Y/n had to do and that decision was one of the best I've ever made. "Alright. What's the plan?" He asks and Thoma explains everything.

The next few days are just a blur. I feel so out of it and I'm trying to get used to Scaramouche replacing Y/n but it's near impossible because of the past. Of course everyone is fine with it because they don't remember Y/n but still. It's hard.

The next thing I know we're in the warehouse. I clear the facility and 'find out' that the Kanjou Commission has been collaborating with the Fatui do to the Crystal Marrow stocks inside. Fatui agents and others come and desperately try to hold us off. "We have to keep going! Lord Harbinger's orders!" One of them yells. "Lord Harbinger..?" Scaramouche asks quietly. The agents and mages and all of them keep coming and we fight for a long time.

"Stop."

I hear an all too familiar voice. I look over and see Scaramouche looking nervous. She walks out and claps slowly. "Good job, traveler and friends. You actually managed to find this place." She says with a smile. My hands starts shaking a lot, still holding my sword.

This isn't right...
