- Aether's POV -

The past few weeks have finally come to a close. Now it's around the time we fight Y/n. It's been forever since I've seen her and I'm nervous. When we enter the Sanctuary, Nahida gives me a look that confirms we're restoring Scaramouche's memories. "Well, now that everything is over, it's time to fight Y/n." Nahida starts. "Scaramouche, I have something to tell you." She says and he hums, looking at her with a confused expression. "The life you're living...it's not yours." She says and he raises an eyebrow. "What do you mean?" "Basically you switched your past and life with Y/n. You're living Y/n's life.." I watch as his eyes widen. "What.." He mumbles under his breath. "I have to restore your memories..and you have to save Y/n." Nahida says while starting to float. "I understand.." He says and Nahida proceeds to give him his memories back. I watch as he falls to the floor in pain. I can't confirm but I would assume it would hurt to have your life play in front of your eyes. After a few minutes he stands up and stumbles a little. Wind starts to blow and an Anemo Vision floats down to him. "I guess Y/n and I are on an even playing field. Glad that's over." He says and puts his vision on the gold thing on his chest. "Thank you for everything, Aether. I'm sorry to have put you through all of that. I suppose it's time to get this over with, right?" He asks Nahida and she nods with a smile.

- Scaramouche's POV -

It pains me to think I have to fight Y/n. Yes we've sparred but she wants to kill me..and I understand. I regret ever thinking I could switch our lives. Walking into the room I see the mechanical suit. "Y/n..." I mumbles sadly. "Welcome back...old friend." She says coldly. I watch as she walks up to me, outside of the suit. "I see you got a vision. Think you're stronger than me, hm?" She crosses her arms. "No. I don't." I respond sternly. "Ha...sure thing." She rolls her eyes. She stands there until the wires pull her up into the suit. "Let's reenact the scene of the Archon War! God to God.." She says.

It's now or never...

We fight her and everything starts to go the same as it did when I saw in her place. She stabs Nahida through the chest. She's been in a Samsara. We continue to fight her until the end of the battle. Nahida starts to take the Gnosis from her. "Give it back! It's mine!" She yells and I wince at the tone of her voice. "Please! Anything but the Gnosis!" She yells before the wires tear and she falls into a pile of rubble. "She should be unconscious right now. Give her some time." Nahida explains. We start to exit before I hear the movement of rocks. I look back and so do the others because they noticed I did. "No way..." I mumble.

She's..standing?

"Th..the Gnosis..." She says breathlessly. There's blood coming out of her head and other parts of her body. "It..it's mine!" She yells and runs up to Nahida. Before she does anything rash I pull her back. "Calm down." I say sternly. "Let me go! You don't understand, the Gnosis is the only thing I can use to prove myself!" She shouts again. "What are you talking about?" I ask calmly. "The Shogun...she'll notice me if I can show her! I can!" She yells desperately. I throw her down to her stomach and hold her down. "Y/n..calm down." I say again. "Give yourself some time. You're delusional right now..." Nahida says and she grunts. "You don't understand..I need this!" Y/n begs. She manages to reach out her arm towards Nahida. "Please...give it back.." She starts to cry but stops soon after. "Y/n..are you calm now?" I ask softly and get no response. I tilt her head slightly and see her out cold. I get up off of her and lift her onto my back. "Let's get out of here." I say and they nod.
