Something that was weird to Y/N was that although it was just snowing yesterday and freezing cold, it's somehow back to being warm and there being no snow in sight, not even a tiny trace of it. It was like it vanished.
The cold, harsh winds was replaced with warm, slow winds that was gentle on the skin. Sounds of crickets and whatever else was in the dark chirped to create a nice melody between Y/N and Red, who quietly walked side by side, Y/N was mostly following Red since he seemed to know where he was going inside the wooded area. The sounds of crunching leaves and grass also followed them and made a beat together that sounded kinda nice to hear.
Eventually, after what seemed like forever of walking, they made it past the forest to some tiny clubhouse with the outside painted pale blue. This was familiar to Red so he approached it, Y/N following behind him until they stepped inside the smaller version of a house.
"I come here a lot to get things off my mind." Red stated.
The room was about as big as their living room. The walls were painted a pale pink color and two windows mirrored each other on the left and right wall, a pale yellow curtain was held shut as to hide the inside from outsiders. There was a small bookshelf on the left side of the wall with a few books and a empty mug sat on top of the shelf with a potted plant, a portrait of Manny, Robin, and Red hung on the wall above the shelf. A toy chest was on the other side of the room that sat under a shelf hung on the wall that had a little toy ship on it, beside it on the back wall was a bigger bookshelf with random items scattered on it and a small table with two small chairs that was just the color brown, another portrait was on the wall but it was of Manny and someone else that seemed like a bigger version of him with their face scribbled out with a black marker which seemed out of anger. On the right side of the wall, beside there the table and chairs were there was a collage of different drawings taped to the wall and a desk with a chair pushed against the window, the desk included some paper, a cup with pencils and markers, a lamp, another portrait of the trio together, and another empty mug. There was a circle rug under the tables and above there was a string of lights that was strung up on the ceiling, and colorful paper stars hung around the walls to give it some more decorations.
"We found this place empty when we were looking for a place to make a picnic at, so we decided to fix it up a bit and make a little club house for Manny. But, since he'd rarely in here, I've decided to use this as a way to escape the house." Red said, sitting down on the chair at the desk and watching as Y/N gazed around, astonished by how pretty the place looked.
"Wow.." Y/N mumbled, taking their time to acknowledge every single thing inside the room and taking in the details, finally stopping when they saw everything, "this is amazing."
"Thank you. Most of it was my work, so I appreciate that," Red would smile, not like you could see it, but he still did. He'd watch as Y/N grabbed one of the chairs and drag it over to the desk beside Red.
"You're welcome." Y/N smiled at him, watching him open the curtains of the window to look outside and noticing the moon through the gaps of the trees. It was a crescent moon, yet it still seemed to glow as bright as a full moon, "I never realized how pretty the moon here is."
"Like you," Red blurted out, his face flushed under the yarn and he quickly turned his head away from Y/N out of embarrassment.
Y/N was stunned, their face flushed red and they fidgeted with their hands nervously as they stuttered, "T—Thank you.."
"Mhm.." Red hummed, a clear quiver escaping with it. Silence filled the room and the only noise that could be heard was the faint squeak of the chairs as the two who sat in them would shift uncomfortably while maintaining eye contact with the moon.
They'd sit and gaze at the moon for awhile, glancing looks at each other every so often as they wondered what went on inside their minds and what they were currently thinking of. Red was focused on looking at Y/N now, who seemed to be focused on the moon. He wondered on what secrets was hidden behind those eyes that were attracted to the moon, what they had going on inside their mind that stopped them from doing what they wanted to do. Yet, he knew he was never getting a answer for that, so he'd instead gaze into Y/N's (eye color) eyes that glowed like stars from the reflection of the moon, feeling himself being mesmerized by those shimmering peepers.
Red leaned forward and crossed his arms on the table and rested his head on top while still maintaining his staring, which grabbed Y/N's attention and basically forced them to look over at the red man.
"Do I look that much better than the moon?" Y/N joked lightheartedly.
"Maybe," Red responded, a small smirk appeared under his yarn-hair. Y/N smiled softly and blushed lightly, deciding to copy the position Red was in and stare back at him, causing their (hair color) hair to fall a bit over their face.
"Well..." Y/N mumbled, "I disagree. Because, the person that I could stare at more than the moon is staring back at me."
Red's eyes widened a bit while Y/N's eyes squinted as their smile widened, feeling happy for saying that. A comforting quietness settled between them until the sound of Red's chair squeaking interrupted the silence as he'd shift around until his left arm was free and he held it out and moved it towards Y/N's face and brushing the hair aside before resting it gently against their cheek.
"I'm...glad to have you here," Red spoke with a soothing tone, his eyes half lidded and still maintaining eye contact with Y/N. "Me too," Y/N softly replied.
What sounded like a gasp came from Red as his eyes squinted, the gasp following into a long yawn while his eyes watered up with sleepy tears. He'd then close his eyes and nuzzle his head against his arm, Y/N watching him as he seemed to "accidentally" drift off to sleep, moving closer to Red and having their legs touch while also keeping some space between their faces. Yet, Y/N could still feel his breath against their face.
Guess this was where Y/N was going to sleep tonight.
