A female sighed quietly as she walks in a hallway, her mind elsewhere.  She didn't know how long it had been ever since the infection started. But she knew one thing.

It was going to be over. Hopefully, she was right.  Cool air of an air conditioner made Daphne sigh softly. She closed her eyes, humming at the feeling of the cool breeze.  Nowadays, Daphne walked around in the halls to think about some things. And she had a lot of things to think about.

The female officer immediately snapped out of her thoughts, hearing a familiar voice behind her.  "Daphne? What are you doing out here? Everyone's looking for you."  Daphne quickly turned around, seeing someone standing behind her.

It was Pony, one of the survivors that Daphne had ran into. She was glad that she had ran into him and the other survivors.  The female's face formed a smile, and she stood up from where she was sitting.  "Oh, just out here to think. Don't worry about it." Daphne replied, chuckling a little.  "If you say so. You should head back, we're all about to eat, and everyone's waiting for you."  Daphne heard Pony's statement, and the female nodded slowly.

"Alright, I'll head back now. Sorry if I worried you."  The brunette began walking back with Pony. She frowned, knowing that everyone was wondering where she had been.

Ever since the Safe Place had been invaded by The Silver Paw, and the Refinery had been invaded by Daphne's team, both teams worked things out and chose to find a new place together and came together as one team. Daphne was a bit hesitant, since she wanted to help find a cure. However, she was told by her friends not to worry about it so much.

So, they all managed to find a hotel nearby, and it had a lot of rooms for everyone to stay in, so it was enough for everyone. It reminded Daphne a lot of the Safe Place, since it was similar to the hotel they found. Although it had more things in there, like a swimming pool, a courtyard and plenty of more rooms for everyone.

As Daphne walked into the dining room, she sees everyone chatting with one another. But as they all noticed Daphne and Pony, they all stopped talking.  "Oh, there she is!" A zebra called out, waving at Daphne. It was Zuzy, one of the survivors.

"Well, about time you showed up. Where in the world do you keep disappearing off to?" A certain wolf asked, standing up from where she was sitting. She had a slightly annoyed expression on her face, knowing that Daphne had ran off several times.  The brunette female sighed softly, as she crossed her arms. Despite Willow's tough exterior, she still cared. Daphne had always ignored it. But Willow had cared for her. More than Daphne would ever know.  "Sorry... but I was just in the halls. Were you really that worried, Willow?"

"Well, we're on the same team, are we?" Willow asked, raising an eyebrow in confusion. Daphne nodded slowly. Willow did make a good point.  "Yeah, we are. I care for you all too, but you all don't have to worry about me." Daphne stated, shaking her head.  "Daphne, I know you care for all of us here. But we care for you too. When you suddenly disappeared earlier, we all got worried. It's a good thing Pony found you before anything happened." A mole pointed out, frowning.

"Mimi, I can take care of myself. I'll be fine." Daphne stated, sighing once more. She appreciated that everyone cared for her. However, she was not a little girl anymore, she knew what she was doing.  "Go sit down and eat. Some of us made food, and I think you'll need to eat." Pony then said, patting Daphne's shoulder before sitting down. Daphne nodded slowly, before sitting down between two people.

One of them was a pig, and one of them was another zebra.  It was Georgie and Zee, Zuzy's sister. They both smiled as they saw Daphne, but instantly frowned right after due to the expression on her face.  However, they decided not to ask her anything, since they didn't want to pressure her to answer.

Daphne ate some food, hearing the conversations among everyone. She was known for being a very quiet person for an officer. She doesn't tend to walk into conversations, she would only listen.  "How long will this even pass? I know this will be over soon, but when will the day come?" She thought.  "Daphne? You're picking on your food."

"Huh?"

Daphne then looked down at the plate of food she currently had and saw that she was poking the food with her utensils, not bothering to eat some of it.  Usually, Daphne would eat all of it. But today, it was different.  The female looked up, seeing someone else saying that. It was a giraffe, named Giraffy.  "Huh? Was I...?" She asked, shaking her head slowly.

"Yeah, I think you were. Is there something on your mind?" Mimi had questioned, a worried expression on her face. "Mimi, I told you. I'm fine." Daphne said bluntly, shaking her head slowly.  No one had said anything when Daphne said that. However, they all looked at each other with worried expressions like Mimi.

During the infection, it had slowly taken a toll on Daphne. Daphne always had a smile on her face, hiding everything else and cared for others around her. And that's what she still did to this day. However, others worried for her. It looked like she was hiding something. But Daphne always reassured them, saying that everything was fine. She even always put her duties, and everyone's needs before her own for most of her life, so it was hard to express her emotions in front of others growing up.

Sure, she had expressed her emotions several times before. However, it was rare. She felt like it would come out wrong.  Eventually, Daphne finished up her food, and got up from her seat. She needed some time to think again.  Some of the others turned their heads to where Daphne was going. They all stared at her in curiosity. Georgie was one of them.

"Where is she going?" Georgie asked, turning to everyone else.  "She's not one to walk off like that. She disappears." Willow said, crossing her arms slowly.  "It's like Daphne has a habit of doing that or something..." Giraffy mumbled under his breath.  "Maybe one of us should keep an eye on her. See if she's okay." Mimi pointed out.

In an instant, someone stood up from their seat, and ran off to find her.  "Well, there goes Pony. Wasn't he looking for her earlier?" Katie had asked, a frown on her face.  "Hey, he does care for her." Kitty had admitted, crossing her arms. "Does he like her? I can imagine that~" Felix had said, making Filip glare at Felix.  "Pony thinks of her as a sister. Come on, Felix." He had said, crossing his arms now.

On the other hand, Pony had walked around the halls, looking for the human female. She could be anywhere. He knew that she wouldn't run off that far. However, he still worried about her, nonetheless.  "Daphne? Daphne!" He had called out her name a few times. However, there was no answer.

He looked in her room and looked through the different floors. He basically looked for her everywhere at this point.  However, once he turned his head to the front door, he had noticed a figure sitting outside. He tensed up, thinking that it was an infected at first.  But the more he thought about it, the more he had taken back that thought. How was that an infected if it was sitting down like that?

Seeing the long brown hair and the light pink beret on her head, Pony recognized her immediately.

He walked over to Daphne, wondering why she would be sitting out there.
