Daphne had woken up the next morning, to the sunlight shining at her window.
She yawned softly, stretching her arms. She glanced out at the window for a few seconds. It seemed to be a nice day for a walk. As long as there weren't any infected around. Daphne turned her head towards the door, hearing a knock. She yawned once more and walked towards the door, opening it.
"Daphne? Did I wake you up?" It turned out to be Pony. It looked like he wanted to talk to her about something. "Huh? Oh no, I woke up before you knocked on the door. What's up?"
"Can I come in your room? Everyone's still asleep."
"Yeah, of course. Come in." Daphne held the door open and let the pony inside. She shut the door behind her. "Is there anything you wanted to talk about?" Daphne asked softly, looking over at Pony.
Pony then sighed softly. He then frowned slightly, trying to think of what to say. "Well..." Pony began but sighing again afterwards. "I didn't tell anyone about this last night, but... I had a nightmare. I was thinking of talking to someone about it, but I didn't want to bother any of you..."
Daphne frowned deeply at Pony's statement. Her heart ached once more at the sight of Pony feeling anxious or scared. "Pony... you know I'll be here. You can talk to me about it." Daphne said softly, placing a hand on Pony's shoulder. Pony smiled a little at the female and nodded slowly. He was glad that a friend like Daphne was here for him. Well, besides the others.
"Thank you, Daphne. You always give your time to listen to others. You're a really great friend." Daphne chuckled slightly. She then shook her head slowly. "Just trying my best to be there for everyone. I want to make sure that everyone's okay." Pony nodded quickly. He smiled once more towards the female. But then, a frown came on his face.
"About the nightmare I had... I saw Zizzy in that dream." Daphne's eyes widened in surprise. She thought that Zizzy only went through her dreams, and not Pony's dreams for a reason. "Zizzy? How is that possible?" Daphne asked, trying to act like she didn't know. "I... I don't know. But... when I did see her in the dream, she was not the same person as before."
Daphne was even more surprised at this point. What did Pony mean by that? "Pony... what are you trying to tell me?" Daphne asked softly, hoping that Pony wasn't saying what she was thinking.
"She said that she was never on our side in the first place... she... she betrayed us. I... I didn't know whether she really meant it or not. But it looked like she did. And you have no idea how much it hurt me..." Pony mumbled under his breath. Daphne felt her heart break at seeing Pony upset. But at the same time, she was confused.
Would Zizzy really say that to Pony? She didn't recall the zebra saying that to the human girl herself. Daphne then heard a sniffle, and quickly looked up. She quickly took notice of Pony, and her eyes widened. There were tears coming out of Pony's eyes. He quickly wiped them away, trying not to let Daphne notice them.
"I'm sorry, Daphne... it's just... I miss Zizzy so much. I've been getting these nightmares about her, and I didn't want to bother anyone about it." Daphne frowned even more, and gently pulled the pony into a gentle hug. Pony tried to hold in the tears that he had, but within a few seconds, he let his emotions out, crying onto Daphne's shoulder.
Daphne rubbed his back gently, trying her best to comfort him. She held onto Pony, not letting go of him. "Pony, I said that I'll be around if you need me for anything. Don't forget that..." Daphne said to Pony softly. "And I promise you, when a cure is made, Zizzy will the first person we will save." Daphne stated on as well.
Pony then slowly pulled away from the hug, wiping his tears once more. A soft smile came on his face. "I'm sorry if I bothered you with any of that." He said, shaking his head. Daphne then shook her head once more. "Pony, it's okay. I spoke to you about my problems, and you comforted me the same way, remember? I want to do the same for you and everyone else."
