Daphne was just eating some breakfast in the cafeteria the next morning.
She currently had nothing to do right now. Maybe she could talk to Doggy and Bunny, catch up with them. "Daphne! Are you done eating your breakfast yet?" Daphne then quickly turned her head, seeing Kitty asking her that question. She was in the kitchen, cleaning up the dishes from the breakfast that the Silver Paw girls had made.
"Almost done. Just give me a few more minutes." Daphne noticed Kitty nod at her and give her a thumbs up. Daphne should probably finish up her breakfast sooner or later. By now, everyone was already done. In about 3 minutes or so, Daphne had finished up her breakfast. She picked up the plate and gave it to Kitty so she could clean it.
She then walked out of the cafeteria, wondering what to do next. Maybe she could hang out with the younger ones. She really liked being around them, since she thought of them as her younger siblings, despite them already having older siblings of their own.
Her heart ached, remembering the fact that all three of them lost their older siblings to the infection. She couldn't imagine what that felt like. "Daphne! There you are! We were looking for you!" Daphne heard a familiar voice call for her. Was it Pony?
The female turned around, seeing who it was. A dog and a bunny ran up to her. No, it was Doggy and Bunny. What did they want? "Doggy? Bunny?" Daphne asked, seeing them run over to her. "We just wanted to see how you're doing." Bunny said, chuckling a little. Daphne tilted her head to the side. They wanted to check up on her?
"If you're going to ask how I'm doing... I'm not sure how to answer that. The infection's took a toll on me, and I lost you two before, and another dearest friend of mine. I don't know how I can be okay." Daphne claimed, shaking her head slowly. Doggy and Bunny stayed silent, frowns coming on their faces. They never knew Daphne had felt that way before.
"I'm glad you two are here now. But remembering what happened to you both, I'm scared that I'll lose you both again." The human female continued on. The dog and bunny stayed silent, thinking of what to say. Then, Bunny walked over to Daphne, pulling her into a hug. "Daphne... we may have lost to the infection before. But that was back then. This is the present. We're here now, are we?"
Daphne paused for a moment to think about it. That was only a year ago. She lost Doggy and Bunny a year ago. "I know you're here... and I can say that I'm not seeing things. I'm really sorry, Bunny. It's my fault I left you behind in the metro."
Bunny's eyes widened in surprise, but quickly shook her head. She patted Daphne's back gently. "What? Daphne, no, this isn't your fault. If you took me with you, then I would've put you in more danger. Don't blame yourself for something that was out of your control." The brunette female frowned slightly. She wasn't sure if she can forgive herself for that.
"I... I don't know if I can forgive myself for it. I constantly leave behind people that who have been hurt. I feel like I'm to blame for it." Bunny eventually pulled away from the hug. She then placed a hand on Daphne's shoulder. "Daphne, we may have lost a lot of people. But... all I can say is... you have to try and move on if there is nothing we can do. For them..."
Daphne paused for a moment, and then shook her head. "I don't know if I can... I want to save them. I want to find a cure and save them..."
"And we will, Daphne. I'm sure of it. We'll save everyone." Daphne then turned to Doggy, who had said that. "I want to try to save them... but are we able to save everyone?" Daphne questioned, unsure of what to do.
"Daphne. You're not the only one who lost someone." Daphne looked up once more at the dog. Doggy then walked up to her and pulled her into a hug as well. "I lost a dear friend of mine to the infection too. Do you remember Poley?"
