Jake Becomes Part of the People

Akima's POV

So it's been a month since I became part of the people. I've turn two other members of the tribe. Mimi and Cato. Brother and sister. Aries is now alpha male to my female. Taha-aki is beta. The tribe was very happy for Aries and I. Though his parents weren't overjoyed about him mating with an avatar. Even though I'm an alpha of my pride protecting the tribe. Aries and Tsu'teys' younger brother though doesn't seem to have an issue with me. And neither does Tsu'tey.

Jake and I managed to sweet talk Mo'at into letting Grace visit the village. The kids were so excited to see her again. Grace would visit nearly every day. Jake continued his training, while I trained my pride.

Anyway Mo'at finally told Neytiri that Jake could hunt. So they went out today. I left Aries in charge of the pride. So that I could go watch Jake's hunt. I nestle in a tree as he loads his bow with an arrow. Pointing it at a yerik, or as the sky people call it a hexapede. He breaths slowly and releases his arrow. It hits the  yerik, but doesn't kill it.

It fell to the ground landing on it's side as it cries out in pain. Jake drew his knife and rushed over to it. As I jump down silently beside Neytiri as we watched him. "I See you Brother, and thank you" Jake says in na'vi and stabs the yerik killing it quickly. Ending it's suffering. "Your spirit goes with Eywa, your body stays behind to become part of the People" he states and removes his arrow.

"A clean kill" I state and Jake looks up surprised.

"Akima is right, you are ready" Neytiri tells him with a proud smile. We take his kill back to hometree and presented it to Mo'at. Who declared Jake is ready. He'd go with the next group of young hunters to get his ikran.

"May I go?" I ask her.

"Of course you me" she tells me. I smile and left them to it. I go join Aries and the pride. I greet them and they greet me.

"How did it go?" Aries asks wrapping his arm around me.

"He made a clean kill, and will be joining the next group to face Iknimaya" I state.

"So we will have three new aerial hunters" Mimi states.

"As long as they get their ikran" he brother states.

"I do not see why they would not" Nuka states.

"How was patrol today?" I ask them.

"Those machines are getting closer to home tree" Aries states.

"If they get any closer we will have to do something. Or the clan will" I state. They nod their heads and we go join dinner. Where Jake's kill was served along with the kill from the hunting party.

(Time skip)

So Jake left with Tsu'tey and the other young hunters this morning. Neytiri and I didn't have to leave until later. As it's quicker flying there then it is riding. S I went on morning patrol with the pride. Then returned to home tree. Leaving Aries to train the others in how to fight in palulukan form. I grabbed a yovo fruit.

Then meet Neytiri. She had our ikran saddled and ready. "Thank you" I tell her as we mounted them. Linking with them. "Race?" I ask her.

"You will lose, Zeze has never lost a race" she tells me with a smile.

"We will see about that" I tell her. "Heeyaaahh!" I yell taking off. She follows suit and we race for the hallelujah mountains. She's not wrong, Zeze is fast. But so it Aelia. We tie as we land in front of the others. We dismount and unlink from our ikran.

"We need to race again sometime" she tells me. Zeze nudges her as Aelia nudges me. We both smile at them.

"I think they like that idea" I tell her and she smiles more. Tsu'tey has Jake and the others line up. Before declaring Jake would go first. We head to the nest past the waterfall as Neytiri speaks to Jake.

"How will I know if he chooses me?" Jake asks her.

"He will try to kill you" Neytiri tells him.

"Outstanding" he mutters. He approaches the ikran. Several shriek and take flight. Others flap their wings and yawn, showing rows of fangs, in a threat display. But don't attack him as he unrolls his ikran catcher.

A large blue male spreads enormous wings, shrieks, and glares straight at Jake. Jake hisses back and it doesn't back down. He's found his ikran. "Lets dance" he says. Jake nearly fell off of the cliff, but in the end linked with his ikran. He released it's jaws as it stood up.

Neytiri and I run over directing him towards the cliff. "First flight seals the bond. You cannot wait" Neytiri tells him.

"Think fly" I add.

"Fly" he says. The ikran is off like a shot. Jake screams as they plummet off the cliff. We watch as they fall together, spiralling out of control, and Jake is almost tossed lose. "Shut up and fly straight!" Jake shouts at it and it does so. It banks to the right. "Level out" he says and the ikran does. Neytiri runs over to Zeze linking with her. Then takes off to go fly with Jake.

I stayed with Tsu'tey and the others. Soon they all had their own ikran. We set out for home tree. Flying in a V formation. We arrived in time for dinner.

(Time skip)

I'm relaxing with Aries after breakfast. Today Jake would be doing the dream hunt and become a part of the people. He's running late as Grace is giving him a lecture. "I see you Akima" Mo'at says as she joins us.

"I see you Mo'at" I tell her.

"Aries has told me you wish to leave your human body behind and be in this one all the time" she states.

"Yes, but I know it is impossible" I say sadly.

"Not for Ewya" she tells me. "It is called a consciousness transfer. Where a consciousness of a single being is transferred from one body to another. You would have to pass through the eye of Ewya and return" she explains.

"You would never have to live two lives again" Aries tells me.

"Can I think about it?" I ask Mo'at.

"Of course you may, besides today is about Jake Sulley joining the clan. But when you have made a decision, let me know and I will organize it. Though we will need your human body" she tells me. I nod and she left to see to the preparations for Jake's dream hunt.

"I thought you would be excited" Aries says.

"I would not just be saying goodbye to my human life Aries. Or the base and my friends there. I would be saying good bye to my wolf" I tell him. "She is a part of me, if I do the transfer. I will not only be killing my human body, but my wolf's as well" I state.

"Your wolfs' mind would transfer also" he tells me.

"I just have to talk to her about it first" I tell him. "We will talk more about this later, Jake is here" I state. We went with the rest of the tribe while Jake faced his dream hunt. He reappears an hour later with those who were present for the dream hunt.

"You are now a son of the Omaticaya. You are part of the People" Eytukan declares. He places both hands on Jake's chest and holds them there. All the members of the clan press forward, crowding around and putting their hands on Jake's shoulders, back, chest or other members shoulders. I placed on my hands on Neytiri's shoulder and Aries does the same to Eytukan. I feel hands on my shoulders also. Hands upon hands, until he is connected to everyone in the clan. He is now a part of the people, like me and everyone.
