A Week Later

"The days are starting to blur together. The language is a bitch, but I figure it's like field-stripping a weapon. Repetition, Neytiri calls me Skxawng it means moron. Norm's attitude has improved lately. Though Akima is very secretive about her training with Aries. But it's good Norm back on board, but he thinks I'm a Skxawng too. Along with Akima" Jake chuckles.

"My feet are getting tougher. I can run farther every day. I have to trust my body to know what to do. With Neytiri it's learn fast or die" he states ending his twelfth video log. Akima unlinks from her avatar. "Late day again?" Jake asks. She only nods and calls it a night.

Akima's POV

We had moved to the shack in the mountains. As Max had seen Jake talking to the colonel about home tree. Jake and I were given the less glitchy link beds. Anyway it's been a week since I turned Aries and he is learning fast. So am I. Faster then Jake anyway.

I have picked three other warriors to turn so far and will turn them in a couple of weeks. Once they fully understand what they're getting into and wish to turn without a doubt. Though I also have my eyes on five other potential pack members. But haven't approached them yet. Figured I'd deal with these three first, before approaching Eytukan about the other five.

One of the three though has a mate and young son. So I am most unsure about him. "What of Skaara?" Aries asks as we discuss members with the gene.

"To young and head strong" I tell him. "Maybe when he is older and more mature" I state. He nods his head in understanding. "But remember we are waiting to hear from Taha-aki, Nuka and Lars first" I remind him.

"I know" he assures me.

"What are Jake and Neytiri doing today?" I ask.

"Running through the forest, Neytiri is teaching him to trust his body" he states.

"You need to learn to trust your new body as well, lets go" I tell him.

"Ok, but first I wish to introduce you to someone" he tells me. I nod and he leads me to the top of home tree. Where the ikran roost. He lets out a series of trills and clicks. An ikran lands in front of us with a screech. "Do not look in his eye" Aries tells me. I roll my eyes, I'm not stupid.

He feeds the ikran a sliver of meat. He checks it's sadle straps and mounts it. Connecting his que to it's antenna gently. "Ikran is not horse. Once shahaylu is made, ikran will fly with only one Hunter in the whole life" he explains to me.

"To become an aerial hunter, you need one right?" I ask him.

"You must choose your own ikran and she must choose you" he states.

"When may I choose?" I ask him curious.

"When you are ready" he says with smirk. "Heeyah!" he yells and the ikran takes off. I crouch down and watch him glide over the forest canopy. I smile. I can't wait for my own ikran. But I will be patient as I still have much to learn. And to do.

Aries returns and we go for a run. He is getting better at trusting his new form. And controlling his inner beast. Getting used to his increased senses, strength and speed. But he still needs to learn to fight, which is another thing we do. We spar in our beast forms. Though he still can't beat me.

I pin him for a third time. 'Ok, I give' he says and I let him up. A pair of adolescent viper-wolves nearby laugh at him. 'Must they watch?' he asks me.

'They are learning to fight also' I tell him. 'Show him boys' I say and the begin to spar. They were both evenly matched. But the older of the two son pins the younger one. 'You still need to work on your endurance' I tell the younger one.

'Yes alpha' he says.

'Now run along you two' I tell them and they left. 'Come, that is enough sparing. Lets go practice your hunting' I tell Aries and start to walk off.

'You know I am one of the clans best hunters' he reminds me.

'In Na'vi form, yes. But you must learn to track in this form' I tell him. 'We are more connected to Pandora in this form. We can sense when there is trouble, you just have to listen. Quiet your mind' I explain. He takes a deep breath closing his eyes.

'You have to look, listen, and smell, all at the same time' I tell him. 'Try to feel the forest around you' I state.

'I do not feel anything' he admits and I chuckle. I feel.

'Yerik playing in a meadow' I tell him.

'How do you know?' he asks me curious.

'I can feel it in the pads of my paws' I tell him and he looks at one of his. 'If there was danger, they would stop and I would run to them' I explain. 'Do not worry, with time you will able to do the same. Even in Na'vi form' I assure him.

'I hope so' he tells me. I look up.

'Lets head back' I tell him. He agrees and he keeps trying to feel the forest. But runs into a tree instead and I laugh.

'Felt it' he says sheepishly and I giggle.

'When you need it most, it will be there' I assure him. We reached our clothes and shifted in private. Before racing back to home tree. Which he won, only because he knows the forest more then I do. We arrive just in time for dinner and join the feast.

"What happened to you?" Jake asks me pulling a twig from my hair.

"Same as you, just else where" I tell him. He nods his head. "How's the language coming on?" I ask him.

"Still a pain" he grumbles and I chuckle.

"You'll get there" I assure him. "I think I'll turn in early tonight, I haven't done a video log since we arrived at the shack. And Grace has been nagging me too" I tell him.

"Yeah, she has me do one every night before bed" he states.

"I know" I say with a smile. Taha-aki appears. "I see you Taha-aki" I say.

"I see you Akima, may we speak?" he asks and I nod my head. I said bye to Jake and left with Taha-aki. "I have thought about your offer and spoken to my family about it. And I wish to become a thanator" he tells me. I smile.

"Then I will turn you tomorrow, if you are positive. Meet me at the Tree of Voices after breakfast" I tell him. He nods and goes to bed. I get into my hammock and unlink. I go to the video recorder.

"This is Akima, video log 53. Location shack, sorry it's been awhile. Been busy learning the Na'vi way of life. Aries, says I am progressing nicely. Better then Jake" I state. "I pray I'll get my own ikran soon, until then. End of video log" I say turning it off. Then grab some dinner, then got ready for bed calling it a night.
