Jim traveled back in Time, to give the amulet to Toby, so everyone can be saved. But did he thought about the consequences this could bring? Did he know what will happened to the Universe? No. But its worse than he could ever imagine.
"Trollhunters! Make the ninth configuration, chronosphere will make right!" a voice yelled in Jim's head. He stood amidst the debris of the Fire Titan and destroyed buildings, looking down at the prostrate, glowing chronosphere. He picked up Excalibur, the anger and sadness from what had happened seconds before building up inside him. With full force he hit Excalibur on the magic sphere and destroyed it, whereupon a huge burst of light illuminated the place.
When the light went out, a beautifully glowing green rock rose into the air and stopped in front of Jim.
Blinky was overwhelmed, it was a time stone. The Time Stone. Jim stared at him before voicing his thoughts.
"What if it wasnt the titans this thing was meant to make right?" "What do you mean?" Claire asked, visibly confused. Jim explained it to her: "Time unfolds differently! Like a flower!" Claire remembered Nari's words to Jim when they freed her from Bellroc's control.
"Only the troll hunter will know." "Know what?" Krel hadn't heard the conversation and didn't know what they meant. But the others didn't have the faintest idea of what Nari had meant either.
"What really happened!...", Jim began, "time unfolds differently! If I go back, things will happen differently!"
"And maybe even worse! We barely saved the world this time." , Douxie tried to dissuade Jim from his thoughts, knowing full well that this decision could have the most fatal consequences. "But at the expense of so many dear to us... Nomura, Nari, Strickler... Tobias...", Blinky's words didn't make Jim's emotional chaos any better. Especially not after hearing his best friend's name, Tobias.
Jim sighed and his head sank.
"But..." Aja began, "if things went differently, Jim could save them all!"
Jim considered. He didn't know what to do. It was one of the hardest decisions he's ever made. He had been the troll hunter for 3 years now, and in those 3 years his life had changed completely. The amulet has given him bad times, but it has also given him good times. Jim read the engraved saying on his new amulet "For the good of all..." Suddenly he realized. "No matter what happens, if its mean to be, it will be!"
Blinky tried to explain to him what decision he was making: "Master Jim... if you do this, you alone will be burden by what could have been...". "Shouldering brudens is what heroes do. You taught me that!" Jim replied with a small smile on his face. He remembered the day like it was yesterday when Blinky told him what it was like to be a hero. That was the day he realized that he too can be a hero, that anyone can be a hero!
Even if he was just a dumb little boy who had been picked on and believed in by no one. Yes! Yes, even someone like that could become a hero.
Blinky was proud of how well he had taught his student. He enjoyed all those few years with him, but now he realized he had to let him go.
"I have cherrished every moment with you. In these few years you've grown into a man! A man of courage, wisdom and honor. I could not be prouder of you if you were my own son!"
Blinky clasped his student's arm once more before saying goodbye to him. "I will see you again James Lake Jr.! Somewhere, sometime, our story will continue..." Jim nodded. "And if we are meant to meet, our stars will aline!" said Aja and took Steves hand in hers. It was also difficult for the two to separate. They had just become parents and after so many moons they were finally reunited. Krel wrapped one of his four arms around Douxie, "We believe that!" And Douxie nodded.
But what about Claire?! She had almost lost her boyfriend more than once, but they always found a way to save each other, and this time it finally happened?!! She looked at Jim with tears in her eyes. Jim was more than sorry to see her like this. Klara sobbed and ran into his arms.
She held him as tightly as she could and was able to get her last wish out of him while fighting back tears.
"Whatever happens... dont give up on me!... dont stop trying until I love you!" She broke away from the hug and looked into her boyfriend's eyes.
"If we're meant to be, I'll alwaysbe here..." he carefully held his hand to her head, then he slowly let it wander to her chest where her heart had its place ,,...and here! "
