I walk in and head straight for the phones before starting to look around at the surroundings. Once the phone chimes on and recognises my face I get to see what card I'll be playing for. Seven of diamonds. Well shit and there I was thinking this would be a breeze. All I can hope now is the game isn't that confusing. I do my usual tactic of going to stand in a corner away from people so I could get a good look at everyone registering. The first thing I notice is the lack of phones on the table even though we were the first group here.
Only six spaces in total so two left after the beach people grab their phones. I look at the other two I didn't know so I could get an idea of what they might be like playing games. One woman that stands tall with a slight curl to her hair and a revealing bikini set. She's obviously very comfortable or she just doesn't care what others think. The latter option might cause some difficulty but we'll have to wait and see. The other is a shorter girl obviously less confident with playing games.
She must be relatively new like me to playing or hates diamond games. She has one arm fidgeting with the loops on her shorts as the other is constantly being moved in a attempt to find a comfortable position to stand. My attention eventually drifts over at the blonde also leaning against a corner wall. His hood was pulled up over his head like the first time I saw him. His face was a little covered but I could see he didn't care at all for the game probably feeling in his element right now. Stupid diamond player. My eyes catch the movement of another duo walking into the registration area as they pick up a phone each.
I don't get much time to observe them since registration closes and the game rules appear. "Admissions closed, Game type: Seven of diamonds" the voice rings out as I quickly try and gather as much information as I can before focusing on the rules. From a quick glance the first boy of the new two is looking around probably observing like I am. He meets my gaze for a moment and flashes a small but awkward smile before his eyes drift to the next person.
He seems to be used to the games and diamonds might be his specialty as he seems pretty laid back about the high number. The man next to him is a little more cautious. He stands behind the first so I can't get a good look at him but I do take note of the hand holding lightly to the back of the taller mans shirt. Confident paired with anxious. They shouldn't be a problem if anything I think they'll help out. The first guys eyes pass over me again as I flash a quick and sweet smile to him. He seems to welcome the friendly gesture.
"Quiz time" the voice says as my eyes drift to the screen to read the rules. "There are six lifts inside the building, one for each person" the voice starts as I raise a brow. "A question will be called and you will pick your answer out of the four choices displayed to you" the voice says. These questions must be hard if it's difficulty seven. "If correct you will move up a floor if incorrect you will lose a life" the voice continues as I focus since this was not my forte.
"You will have three lives, if you lose all three it's game over" the voice reads. "Reach floor 10 to win the game" the voice then stops as in front the automatic doors open. The two other girls walk in first followed by the other two guys. I walk in not bothering to wait from the blonde that's still resting comfortably. As I walk in I get to see the game arena displayed in front and oh my god was it massive. The ceiling felt like it never stopped as the ceiling was also made up of window panels. At least the stars are pretty right.
I look down at the elevators that had see through walls. That's just great we have to see others fail I'm guessing. I head over to an empty elevator and walk in as the doors close behind. I notice the floor had a slit in the middle so I can see gather how the game over worked now. I look out the glass around and catch a glimpse off a drop bellow the elevator beside me. Once we were all in an elevators the screen in the corner lights up starting the game instantly.
