Lexy's POV
I sat on my bed, staring at the wall.
I have a show playing on my TV but I'm paying attention to it.
Tonight is my first night in Ms Fairchild's house.
Considering what time it was during around the time of death, my mom died today. And my sister was kidnapped by a murderer.
Ms Fairchild brought me, Jake, and Devon to her house to have us stay with her since I'm an orphan now.
I've been thinking it all day, and it still doesn't sound right.
Me? An orphan? This is crazy!
The sudden movement on my bed beside me snaps me out of my thoughts. I turn to look at the person asleep.
Jake
He'd willingly offered to sleep in my room tonight to make me feel better, so he can keep a close eye on me.
That and Devon left for a while. Ms Fairchild left him with his aunt for a day or two.
Jake was on the other side of my bed, eyes shut tight. His mouth was slightly open as he quietly snores. It was obvious he cried himself to sleep, his face is red and tear stained and his eyelashes are obviously wet.
I cover him up more with my blanket before shutting off the show I abandoned.
I layed down and covered all the way up with my blanket, letting my eyes close.
I instantly fell asleep, not realizing how tired I was.
