[LONG CHAPTER AHEAD]

Author's pov

Entering the room, she found Jungkook laying on their bed with her pillow in his arms. She noticed that he hadn't freshened up yet since he's still wearing the same clothes from earlier when he visited.

It's currently 7 in the evening. Y/n just got discharged from the hospital and went home right away. She sat down on her side of the bed as she watched her sleeping husband.

He's usually sleeping around 10 pm, not this early but she guessed that he's tired. He's also been through a lot today so he deserves to rest.

Leaning forward, she reaches for his soft hair and gently shuffles it. Jungkook hummed because of the sensation but opened his eyes too.

Y/n retracted her hands when she realized that she woke him up even though she was going to talk to him later on

Y/n: "sorry. I didn't mean to wake you up." She stood up as she rubbed her suddenly sweaty palms on her jeans.

She doesn't know why she's being nervous all of a sudden. Maybe because she's facing her husband once again after the rejection of her divorcement proposal.

While Jungkook just stares at her. He didn't move nor utter any words as a response. He's just laying there, watching his wife that was avoiding eye contact. What happened earlier flashed on his mind, bringing back the aching feeling in his chest once more.

"I'll let you rest. I'll talk to you later." As she said, she started to walk out of the room while Jungkook just let her.

Once she's out of the room, he sits up and releases a heavy sigh, trying to calm his chest that's starting to get wild again. He's been out of himself after their talk earlier in the hospital. He wasn't expecting her to get a divorce papers to stop their marriage journey. That brought a big impact to him even though he knows that it's been hard for Y/n to come up with that decision also.

Getting up from the bed, he walked towards the bathroom and took a shower before going downstairs to talk to her.

As Y/n went downstairs, she went straight ahead to their kitchen. Not bothering to switch on any lights in the living room that have been off ever since she arrived. She didn't give any care to her dark surroundings, not that dark since some of the bulbs from the corner of the dining area are on.

After grabbing a wine glass, she walked towards the wine cabinet to pick the best wine for tonight. Sitting down, she poured her glass with it and sipped. Letting the all familiar liquid slide down her throat till it reaches where it belongs.

She shouldn't be drinking any kind of drink that has alcohol on it for now but how can she avoid it when there's something happening and occupying her mind? As she's about to let her thoughts swallow her and get lost in her own world once again, the figure of her husband came in.

As he saw her drinking, why not join her so the upcoming conversation will have some thrill? Something to occupy theirselves other than the situation they are facing.

After grabbing his own glass and pouring the wine on it, he started the talk.

Jungkook: "I'm guessing, it's about the divorcement?" He asked, looking at his glass while gently swirling it.

Y/n: "it didn't end well earlier, so yeah, you guessed right."

As he wants to know the answers already, he asks what he wants to ask.
