Clack, clack, clack the shoes said in a bold statement as they quickly tapped upwards on the steps. She quickly turned the corner, safely exiting the alleyway that came between herself and the cafe. Hurried steps pattered against the sidewalk, in a rush to their destination. Ting-a-ling, the bell on the door quickly announces her arrival. The girl looks around the coffee shop frantically, then stops when she sees the person she is looking for. A wave of happiness rushes over her.

"Denji!" She says, with a quiver in her voice, clasping her hands together with delight. A toothy smile spreads across the young man's face- Reze's cheeks turn a rosy shade at the sight of his boyishly handsome face. At the time of her arrival, she was too focused on the face of her muse to notice the bouquet he was holding, but once she noticed it made the moment all the more special. He places the bouquet on the table, and tightly hugs Reze. She could live in this moment- intertwined in his arms. It was funny how quickly things changed- but in the moment; she decided she no longer cared about serving a country and she no longer cared about pleasing others. She only wanted to live for herself, she wanted to be happy. Her past words ring in her ear, run away with me. I promise I'll make you happy. She still meant every word of it. She wanted to show Denji happiness. But she knew who he was affiliated with. She knew that her dream of an escape would never come to fruition... But even so, she was willing to die trying to make the dream come through if Denji would let her. The time spent intertwined with each other must've been two or three minutes now. Reze runs her fingers through the boy's hair, listening to his beating heart with red cheeks and a grin on her face. She attempts to pull away from him, but he doesn't allow it and gets a stern look on his face.

"I don't want to let you go again." Denji proclaims. Reze puts her hands on his chest and looks into his doting brown eyes, his pupils covering his brown irises, staring toward her. His arms are intertwined at her waist.

"I didn't want to go far," Reze reassures, "I just wanted to look at you." She tells him quietly, slightly confused at the emotions she was feeling. Reze herself tried to comprehend what she'd just told him; she wasn't used to conveying such strong true emotion. Denji tilts his head down and Reze meets him, they lightly touch foreheads, staring at each other in a loving gaze. "I'm sorry I ever tried to leave you, Denji. At the moment, I just thought it'd be easier for you to move on and forget about me... but I never thought about how hard it would be for me to forget about you." Denji smiles and giggles, giving an egotistic reply,

"Any girl would have a hard time forgetting a handsome guy like me." He remarks with a smug grin. Reze rolls her eyes,

"All of the other girls are going to have to forget about you." Reze retorts sassily, planting soft lips onto each other, but this time lovingly. No strings attached. Warmth overcomes the couple, her arms draped around his shoulders; Reze tightly clings to Denji. They look into each other's eyes for a moment, then both give sheepish smiles at the same time.

"Now, we can run away together!" Denji announced proudly. Reze reluctantly shifts her eyes, a pang of sadness in her chest.

"Denji, I'd really love to but..." Makima, that witch. She was a prime example of all that was wrong in the world. Then, Reze thought about all of the bounty hunters that would be after Denji soon. She thought of the trouble that she, herself had put Denji in. "I think it would be best if for now, we stay put."

"Why?" Denji complains, "You wanted to run away, but now you're saying no that we have to wait? Girls are so.."

"Complicated." Reze finished the sentence for him, the perfect word to describe the pair's predicament. Complicated... It was a great word for the couple. There were so many things in this world that the two of them did not understand.

"Comp...licated." Denji drags out his words in protest of her finishing his sentence. Reze moves her head to rest on his chest, listening to his heartbeat slowly. Her arms moved to his waist, pulling him in closely, so badly she wanted to be honest with him. She wanted to explain why everyone was after him, why Makima kept such a close eye on him, and why it wasn't safe for the two of them. Selfishly, however, she wished to stay in this moment so she didn't tell Denji what she knew.

She slowly moved herself from Denji's grasp, clasping his hand into her own and leading him to the table that was decorated by the bouquet. Reze keeps their hands together, interlacing their fingers and tracing his thumbnails with her thumb fingertip. Reze opens her mouth to speak about the beautiful flowers that he'd left on the table: "Oh, how pr-"

"WHAT'S WITH THESE FLOWERS?" A strong, whiney voice trivials from the door. Denji and Reze, caught up in their romantic moment, jump at the girl's entrance "These would suit me perfectly! Gimme!" The blonde proclaims, leaning over the table. Reze yelps and leaps out of her chair frantically, the table shakes and the utensils cause a racket of metal as some hit the floor.

"Power!" Denji hisses, springing over the table to meet Power halfway as she grabs for the bouquet. The two squabbled relentlessly like two bickering toddlers, hurling insults back and forth toward each other, "You're ruining my date!" Denji angrily yelled,

"You ruined your date once you showed up! Haha!" Power asserts to Denji, "The flowers shall come with me! The brave Power!" Reze watches the two argue with an uncomfortable laugh coming upon her face at the absolute absurdity of the situation. Reze envied that life could be so simple for the ignorant. For those who had no present responsibilities to trouble them. At this moment, which was supposed to be so carefree for her, Reze felt a chill enter her spine. Her heart drops, and she freezes for a moment. Once she turns around, a look of confusion sits upon her face when she realizes no one is there. Nothing was wrong.
