The Damage Was Done

Chapter 18

it's been 4 days since I told Axel about the thing with my dad, these past few days have been good Axel and I have been hanging out more, my mum is still making me go to therapy which isn't good but she doesn't push me on talking about it, grey and ash sit with us everyday now so I think we're friends but like I've said before these past few days have been good.

Cleo and I are currently sitting in her room deciding what to wear to the party. I know we probably shouldn't because it's Sunday but who cares.

Once we finally decide what we're gonna wear, I go to the bathroom down the hall to have a shower and get dressed.

Walking back to Cleo's room I open the door to her with makeup and hair stuff spread out and we continue getting ready.

After an hour of waiting for Jake to text that he's here we grab our little bags and put the stuff we'll need in it I grab my phone and charger and some cash, we then grab our other bags with clothes and stuff for school and go downstairs and out the door

"Finally you guys take forever" he says in a jokingly way "watch it, we've been waiting for you to text for about an hour" I retort back, he just laughs and I get in the back seat and Cleo gets in the front.

When we finally arrived at the house we got out only taking our little bags, Cleo grips onto my arm and we make our way inside, the smell of sweat and alcohol is the first thing you can smell when you walk through the door.

We make our way to the kitchen where all the booze is, Cleo makes some concoction for us which I happily take, I down it and and she makes another one we down that then grab beers and go to the back we sit down with whoever is out here and make conversation, occasionally going back in for more drinks I think I'm on my sixth or seventh one.

"So what's going with you and Axel" cleo whispers beside me "nothing much, just friends" I say looking at her confused "friends my ass" she says "we really are just friends" I say again, because that's what me Axel are friends which is a weird concept considering we haven't liked each other since as long as I can remember. "mhm" I hear Cleo hum before going to get us more drinks.

After about 2 hours of mingling dancing and drinking, Jake decides it's finally time for us to leave, we get in the car this time I'm in the front and we head to his house so me and cleo won't get in trouble and because Jake hasn't been drinking, his mum will think he was just there to help us.

When we get inside his house i see his mum in the kitchen, we follow Jake to his mum "hey jakie," she says then she spot me and cleo "oh hey cle and Ellie, what are you girls doing here?" She asks "they're a little bit drunk and didn't want to go home and get in trouble. Can they stay here?" Jake asks his mum, giving her the puppy dog eyes "yeah sure" she says, giving us a smile so we all walk upstairs.

Once me and Cleo are changed we lay down in the bed. I like sleeping after drinking because I don't get nightmares most of the time. I pull out my phone seeing I have a missed call from Axel, so I call him back and wait for him to answer.

'Hey' he says as he picks up the phone "heyyy" I say back, I hear him chuckle on the other end "are you drunk" he asks "no way, how could you ask such a thing" I reply in a joking way I feel a tap on my shoulder and look to my side where it came from 'is that axel' Cleo mouths to me I nodded my head "ok, I'm sorry, get some sleep I'll talk to you at school" he says "ok bye" I say about to hang up before he says "goodnight beautiful" and hangs up.

"Why are you all smiley?" She asks "weren't you talking to just a friend?" She asks in a joking way "yep I was, but now it's bedtime I'm tired" I say pulling the covers over my head.
