The Damage Was Done

chapter 23

We're all on a couch watching TV and eating pizza. We decided to watch a movie and Ashton picked Tangled and I'm not complaining I love Disney movies.

"Flynn Ryder is hot" Cleo says, I laugh nodding my head "there's no denying it" I say back to her, "he's not that hot" Ashton says from beside me "I think you need your eyes checked ash" I say turning to give him a fake concern look.

"My eyes are perfectly fine" he says throwing a piece of popcorn at me, I gasp dramatically at him "you did not do that" I say, he looks at me before looking behind me at cleo who I presume is shaking her head no, "do it" I hear Jake whisper chanting, he goes to pick up another piece of popcorn before throwing it at me, next thing I know we're having a food fight with popcorn in my living room.

Taking a step back I study everyone, I honestly don't want to leave them but its what's best. I feel my smile slowly slipping and my eyes watering, just wait 1 more hour than you can cry and feel sorry for yourself I say in my head.

"You ok?" Someone says bringing me out of my thoughts "yeah" I sigh looking over to Axel "I'm fine" I say, he looks at me debating whether to say something or not but he just nods. After a while everyone calms down and we sit back down finishing the movie.

"Thank You all for coming today" I say as everyone's packing up to leave "of course" cleo says pulling me into a hug "are you gonna be at school tomorrow" Ashton asks also pulling me into a hug "I don't know" I say not wanting to lie to them he nods pulling away, Jake and grey also hug me saying goodnight.

"Remember to call me if you need anything" Axel says and pulls me into a hug "please come to school tomorrow" he whispers in my ear "I'll try" I say and pull away looking at the ground everyone says one last goodbye before leaving.

Closing the door I check the time it's 7:50, going to my closet I pull out my duffel bag I shoved in there just before the rest showed up, I double check I have everything I need and grab the small burner phone i got today when going to the cafe just in case, i quickly change into a all black hoodie and sweats so im less likely to be spotted, I grab the letters from the draw in my desk and make my way downstairs. When I enter the kitchen I stop dead in my tracks.

"What are you doing here?" I ask anxiously " I saw cars parked out front and wanted to make sure your still going through with the plan" he says looking towards me and then his eyes drop to my bag in my hands "which it looks like you are" he says with a smile that would make you think he just won the lotto.

Taking a step forward he hands me an envelope "here" he says trying to give it to me "what is it?" I ask "it's a letter" he reply simply before pulling my hand and placing it in there "to remind you why to stay away, just look at it when you feel the need to come back" he says giving it a squeeze he let's go of my hand.

"Goodbye Louise" he says, starting to head to the door "Abby and Ryder will be better off without you, in fact everyone will" he says and walks out the door.

I stand there in shock before snapping back to reality, I look down to check the time 8:01, I need to hurry up because anyone could come home early placing everyone's letter on the counter. I grab a piece of paper and a pen before writing. Please make sure everyone gets their letter.

I walk out the back door and walk through the back gate making sure to stay in the shadows and to try my best not to be seen. I finally get to the less busy bus stop and wait before getting on the bus I make my way to the back and sit in the left corner, looking out the window with tears in my eyes, I see him standing there watching me with a stupid grin on his face he's got his wish I'm gone from everyone's lives forever.
