The Damage Was Done

Chapter 28

Louise's pov

my alarm woke me up from my sleep getting up, i make my way to the bathroom and take a shower.

Once I finished I get dressed and brush my teeth, I go around the room double checking that i have everything I need, when I'm certain everything's there I grab my bag and head downstairs. in the kitchen April, Molly and Paul were waiting for me, I didn't expect them to be awake considering it was 4:30 in the morning.

walking to the table where they all sat, I take my seat next to molly "hey" she said to me in her small voice, I look down and give her a small smile in return, I look at April whose sitting on the opposite side of the table "I just want to thank you guys for giving me a place to stay and looking after me" I say also giving her a small smile "anytime" she says 

"I should go" I say looking down at my hands "My bus comes in half an hour and I have to get to the stop" I add on still not looking at them, I stand up and make my way to the door,  Molly does the same pulling me into a hug when she reaches me by the door, I crouch down to her level and hug her back.

"I don't want you to go" she whispers in my ear, I slowly pull away and look into her eyes to see tears, I shouldn't of come here cause now I'm doing what I do best hurt people that I care about when they don't deserve it "I know" I whisper back "but I have to" I add on pulling her back into a hug, she just nods her head.

"come on kid, we'll take you" Paul says from where he was standing by the entrance of the kitchen, he makes his way over giving my shoulder a gentle squeeze in a comforting way before picking molly up and making his way to the car.

After a little drive we make it to the stop, we make our way out of the car and just stand there staring at the stop, April comes and stands beside me making me look at her and she does the same before speaking "listen if anything happens call me" I nod my head at her "also let me know what happens between you and that Axel kid, I'm rooting for you guys" she adds on which makes me laugh.

she pulls me into a hug and we just stay there hugging for a few minutes before pulling away "remember big sister" she says pointing to her herself and I nod again with tears in my eyes begging to be released, I feel bad for lying to them about going home but it's better they don't know or they wouldn't let me leave and I'd be putting them in danger.

"call us when you get there" Paul says pulling me into a hug and I nod "thanks for everything" I say pulling away from him "anytime kid" he replies before I turn to Molly and kneel down so I'm at her height and pick her up, she wraps her tiny arms around my neck squeezing me tight not wanting to let go.

"If you need anything ask your mum to call me" I say to her and she nods her head, she's now crying and that breaks my heart, "hey, don't cry" I say softly to her "I'll come visit you when I can, ok?" I say to her, she slightly pulls away just enough so she can look into my eyes  "promise" she whispers and I nod my head a tear falling from my eye "I promise" I answer and she places her head back on my shoulder.

"come on moll, she needs to go now" April says, which Molly replies with a whine in protest "It's ok" I say pulling away and placing her into Aprils "I'll visit as soon as I can" when I get a nod that she understands I make my way to get a ticket.

After a long bus ride I arrived at another town 7 hours away from the one before which meant I was 10 hours away from my home, which I hope is enough to keep him satisfied. Walking around the streets, I make my way to a little diner walking in I sit in a little booth and start to read the menu.

as I stare at it I start to think about him, how he only did this because I wasn't as miserable as he was because I was such a disappointment and couldn't be enough for him that he put himself in jail, just to try to get rid of me and now he's doing it again just in a different way, it would be better if he succeeded the first time then I wouldn't be hurting people.

"Hey what can I get for you today" a lady about my age says breaking me out of my thought "can I have the turkey sandwich and a strawberry milkshake please" I ask and she nods writing it down "anything else" she asks and I shake my head "ok I'll be back with your order in a minute" she says and walks away.

A couple minutes later she comes back with my order "are you new to town?" she asks as she places it on the table I just nod my head "I thought so" she says and walks away. I ate my sandwich and drink my milkshake before paying and leaving. It was only 2 so I made my way to the park and pulled out a book and read.
