Chapter V: Rebel • China •

Republic of China's POV:

Wuhan, China, 1953

" it's now or never! " Communist China yelled

" it'll be a suicide if we were to do it! " I argued back.

" there's still a chance, " Communist China said, turning back around. " If we could just get a little closer, we'll be able to kill Japanese General Hideki Tojo! "

" Hell no! Don't you see? The war is over, there's no point anymore! Let's just surrender and get our deaths over with! " I snapped back

" Well think about it, if we killed Hideki, that's one less Japanese General to worry about! " Communist China said, she began looking increasingly annoyed with me.

" Maybe you should of thought of that earlier " I mumbled, loud enough for her to hear, " We should just head back to the base, in there we could think of something else, that doesn't involve basically committing suicide. " I said.

" Coward! " Communist China suddenly shouted, " Why can't we just do it? He rights there! " She argued, I started losing my patience.

" Don't you see there's like, a bazillion other people? We'll be caught and arrested! And then probably killed! " I argued back.

" Well then I'll do it! " Communist China said, about to leave our hiding spot, I instantly grabbed the back of her uniform and pulled her back. " Hell no! We're going back! " I said, dragging her back into the alleyway.

" Hey-! Let go of me! " She said, struggling against my grip.

" Fuck no! Im not letting you basically commit suicide! " I said, dragging her out the back of the alleyway, where our truck was waiting for us, I practically pushed her in.

" Fuck you! " Communist China yelled as I entered the drivers seat. " Well it's either die or don't die! And I choose don't die! " I yelled back, I heard Communist China mutter something but I choose to ignore it.

  It took us a full three hours before reaching back to our base in Zaoyang, my birthplace, the whole car drive I could hear Communist China complaining.

" okay look, I know that you wanted to get rid of that Japanese General and I understand why, but you know how much surviving is so much more important. " I said, trying to consolidate Communist China.

" and look once we have more of a organized plan that's when we can finally start getting rid of enemies, but for now, we need to focus on being undercover and faking our death, alright? " I added, I heard her sigh. " fine. " She said, to be honest she was acting like a complete child.

I exited out the truck and grab the keys to the base, it was actually some citizens house who had passed away, we managed to make a base from their basement though.

I made sure there were no Japanese soldiers before heading inside, checking to see if Communist China was following me, she still hadn't gone out, i huffed but decided not to argue with it.

" why can't we just get along? " I muttered.

As soon as I got into the house I headed for the basement, there was where our ' agency ' was, you could say we were partisans, I would say more of trying to survive for now.

China has been under the rule of Japan for a few weeks now, we collapsed not long after the British, Communist China had half relied on the Soviet Union for supplies, so she had collapsed not too long ago either, so did the other Chinese ' states '

I got out some leftover bread from yesterday and began eating it, although it was stale, it was still food.

It annoyed me how much Communist China was keen on rebelling, I on the other hand want to escape to some place like Brazil, although almost all of South America was Axis influenced or had fallen under Axis influence, Brazil was neutral.

So that was my plan, escaping to Brazil, and if not then Iceland, it would months upon years but staying in China wasn't a good idea, getting to Brazil would be hard, considering Brazil and I are oceans away, and who knows if Brazil would even take me in.

If that were the case I would need a backup plan, I had not much options though, most of everything was Axis influenced or Axis controlled.

I heard the opening of the door and saw Communist China finally coming down. " took you long enough. " I said.

She looked at the bread and back up at me. " did you steal that? " she asked, " no, wasn't you who did? " she looked down thinking for a second, " oh shit, I did. " she said.

" I was wondering how we got this. " I replied.
