Soviet POV

Although it felt nice to finally get to sleep on a bed after all this time in a internment cell, it sure as hell wasn't fun helping run concentration camps, I was usually assigned to concentration camps that didn't have enough supervisors or such and watching all of those innocent people work themselves to death made my blood boil, especially considering that some of those may of been Slavs.

Another thing that disgusted me was how officers would mercilessly beat the prisoners if they did one thing wrong or if they were working too fast or too slow. Sometimes some prisoners just dropped dead from overworking.

It was horrid, but it was hypocritical of me considering we had gulags in Siberia. But I had never seen something so- inhumane.

Some other things I had to do was paperwork delivered from the Kremlin ( which I was surprise hadn't been taken down or just down right destroyed ) or just simply polish Reich's uniform or boots, I was forced to quickly  master the art of it because Reich would beat me if he ever saw even a speck of dust left on his uniform or boots.

But other than the work, I had gotten used the the schedule, wake up, work, sleep, personally, my favorite part is sleeping, I was becoming more and more tired as each day goes on from the amount of work, France told me I'd get used to it.

Another one of my jobs that I dreaded was interrogating, it gave me flashbacks to when I had been interrogated. I had just finished interrogating some Jew who had been accused of robbing an average German citizen, of course, they were executed. I felt bad for them, but what I had learned was that death was better than being sent to a concentration camp 100%.

Suddenly, I heard the door open and boots clampering in, I groaned, as I said, I hated interrogating.

I looked up and saw a woman who looked to be pregnant being escorted by two soldiers, she was mercilessly shoved into the chair situated in front of me.

After they shoved her in, they turned to me. " This woman has been accused with helping two Jews escape the nearby concentration camp of Sachsenhausen. " One of them said. " We'll be out here, " They said, they saluted before leaving.

I sighed, I felt bad for this woman, especially considering that she looked to be pregnant. I had heard this case a lot, what resulted from it was either deportation or even execution. That made me feel ever worser.

I grabbed a paper and a pen and turned to her. " Name and date of birth? " She looked almost dazed, she didn't reply. I really didn't want to beat her or have someone make her give answers.

" Please answer, " I said, trying to be lighter with her, she finally looked up and said in a hoarse and broken voice. " Zemirah Klause, 1923 in Dresden. " She said, I wrote it down lazily.

" Do you have any Jewish ancestry in you? " I asked, I didn't know why it was a required question for me to ask, but I had to anyway.

" No, " She said, " Do you have your papers with you? " I then asked, in papers I meant documents stating their ancestry, date of birth, etc, it was required that the victim brung papers so the interrogator could confirm information.

She shakily handed the papers to me. I grabbed them and quickly read through them, her ancestors were just from Belgium. Instead of giving them back I just placed them to the side.

" Do you know if anyone witnessed you help the escapees? " I asked. " No. " She said, she wasn't even denying that she helped them. Now I truly felt bad. I wrote her response down.

" Was this a planned escape? Or did you just walk by and decide you were going to help someone in escape? " I asked, she shook her head. " I- " She finally looked up at me. " This hadn't been the first time I had helped prisoners, " She admitted. I wrote this down.

" Of the prisoners that you helped, had any of this been recaptured? " I asked, she simply just shook her head. I wrote this down as well.

" Can you tell me where they're hiding? " I asked, she didn't respond, I was practically begging in the inside for her to respond, I really didn't want to get someone in here.

I got up, I was still hoping she would just give their hiding place up. " Can you please me where they're hiding? " I said again, she mumbled something I couldn't read out.

I went to the door but before leaving asked her one more time, she didn't respond.

I opened the door and saw the two soldiers still outside, " She won't answer. " I simply said in a low voice, I felt terrible inside.

The soldiers nodded and went inside, I shut the door after them.

Suddenly, one of the soldiers grabbed the woman's hair and slammed her on the desk, I almost jolted, but still reluctantly went back to the other side of the desk.

" Where did you hide those Jews? "I spat,  not because I actually wanted to, but I didn't want to sound sympathetic around the soldiers.

" I will not tell you! " She suddenly said in a much more confident voice. The soldier practically threw her from the chair and threw her on the ground.

" Answer him, you pig! " The soldier yelled, she didn't reply, I wanted to turn away.

Suddenly, one of the soldiers abruptly stomped on her stomach, I almost screamed, I turned away, god no.. What the hell was wrong with them? They just killed a baby.

What followed suit was the woman screaming in pain, she start bawling. The soldiers just snorted and continued beating her, she still wouldn't give up the prisoners locations. And all I could do, was watch.
