"That was easy," the brunette boy said as though Orange hadn't done all the work, gently dropping the bags he'd been carrying for her in a pile.
"Yeah it was," Orange agreed, adding her other bags to the pile and following her new friend over to the reception.
"Can I help you?" the receptionist asked, putting down what she'd been doing, when she looked up however she surprised the two, as her eyes were bright pink; a very rare eye color. "Are you two together?"
"No." Orange answered, at the same time her friend said "Yes," Both clearly interpreting her question differently.
The receptionist giggled and typed something on her computer. "You two are cute, now let's see... Second Coming and Green, right?"
They both nodded, eyeing each other curiously.
"Here are your dorms, classes and maps." Pink slid two piles of paper through an opening in the window, each toward who they were meant for.
"I put your brothers' information in there as well." Pink told Orange, smiling warmly before going back to whatever she'd been doing before.
"Your brothers are here?" Green asked, grabbing his bags (and some of hers), and reading through his papers.
"Yeah, they're both third years now though," Orange read her papers and put them all, except her map, into one of her bags. "So, Green?"
"Yeah?" he answered, glancing at her with eyes the same color. "Second Coming?"
"I prefer Orange," she admitted. "Do you know anyone here?"
Green raised an eyebrow, glancing at her short, ginger ponytail, and shrugged. "My brother and sister are starting here this year too, if that counts."
Orange smiled brightly. "Of course, what are they like?"
Green stared down at his map, face suddenly warm. "Red loves animals," he began, walking toward the dorms. "He always talks about wanting to spend his life surrounded by them."
Orange's smile softened, recalling a little boy with a pig plushie she met years ago. "What about your sister?"
Green shrugged. "She's always either gardening or cooking."
Orange raised an eyebrow. "So she's distant?"
Green shook his head, though he understood why she thought that. "No, she just likes to stay busy." he stared up at the building where they'd be living. "She told me she just hates not doing anything."
"She sounds nice," Orange smiled, taking her bags back.
Green just stared at her in confusion.
"Is she not...?" Orange asked hesitantly.
"What?" Green looked even more confused. "Are you going somewhere?"
"Aren't these your dorms?" Orange asked, intending to go find her own.
"Yeah, they're co-ed." Orange's eyes widened and she scrambled to get her papers back out, seeing that her and Green's dorms were indeed the same building.
She peeked at his papers and realised they were also on the same floor. "We're neighbours."
Green blinked and looked between the papers as well, realising the same thing. "Huh."
"Let's go then." Orange announced cheerfully, going over to the stairs to find their floor, Green just quietly trailing after.
----------
"This is it!" Orange announced, standing at the end of a long hallway with doors on either side; identical to every other floor they'd passed.
"You said that about all the other floors," Green complained, tired after all the stairs; did their dorms have to be on the top floor?
Orange bounded down the hall, ignoring his complaints, and stopped at the last one on the left. "This one's mine." she said, showing Green her paper to prove it.
Green checked his own and went to the door alongside. "Guess this one's mine then."
Orange smiled at him. "Well, it was nice meeting you, we should have lunch together sometime."
Green chuckled while opening the door. "I don't date girls I just met." he said, going inside before she could say anything.
Orange blinked, then blushed deeply when she realised how her words had been interpreted, and quickly went into her own dorm as well.
