I swung my leg from one corner of my bed to the other feeling the cotton practically caress me with every inch of its fabric.
Today was good already. I had no reason for knowing this except my intuition telling me so. Slowly, I let my fluttered open but groaned, closing them shortly after being met with blinding rays of sunlight streaking through my window. Rolling over onto my stomach I let my right leg and right arm dangle off the side of the bed, feeling my hair cascade partially over my face. Giggles floated up the stairs and hovered over my bed then followed with the sound of kissing cueing me to groan once more.
“Shh, I think she’s up.” Jungkook's groggily morning voice whispered from below.
It suddenly got so quiet that if it weren’t for the squeaking of the stairs I would’ve sworn the aliens finally came, beaming Jungkook and whoever is downstairs with him up to their spaceship, giving me a chance to finally catch some sleep in peace. The footsteps reached the top of the steps then halted in their tracks. I forced my eyes back open and glanced up to see a shirtless man in Pac-Man boxers holding a plate with another figure standing behind him. After blinking rapidly without getting any sufficient process of unblurring my eyes I sat up, putting a raised hand by my face to block the sun and squinted almost painfully to look at them.
“Jungkook is that you?” I rubbed my eyes finally achieving my goal in clearing the sleep from them and saw him standing with his arms out, holding a plate with Mingyu standing beside him with a smile on his face.
“HAPPY BIRTHDAY!” they shouted so loud that it caused me to my jump back. Not realizing how close I was to the edge my momentum took me off the bed and I landed on my back with a nice heavy thud. “Oh shit.”
Yea no shit.
Jungkook was by my side in an instant along with his boyfriend, “Hey Mingyu.” I greeted, gracious that he was helping me off the floor before shooting a death glare at my roommate.
“What the fuck was that?” I threw a soft punch at his shoulder. Jungkook winced at the contact and held up his hands in surrender. He knows that I don’t like to be woken up like that so what the fuck was he expecting? A Macy’s Day Parade saying ‘thanks for remembering my birthday.’ I mean I appreciate but fuck dude…
“Hey, I come bearing breakfast.” Pointing to my desk I let my eyes follow and saw a triple stack of pancakes with melted butter, syrup and strawberries on top with a side of bacon and hashbrowns to complete. Well damn, now I feel like an asshole. “Happy Birthday, Hyunie.” His voice dropped and as he swooped me into a big hug I let myself relax against his warm skin, wrapping my arms around his back.
“Thank you.” I whispered, squeezing him with all my love, “Sorry for snapping at you.”
“Eh,” muscular shoulders shrugged, “I knew what the consequences of my choices could be.” Leaning down he kissed my cheek, letting me go to face Mingyu who was quick to wrap me up in another hug.
“Happy Birthday girl!” Mingyu was cautious not to be too loud this time but was also excited enough that I could still feel his joy that having made it another year around the sun. He was such an amazing guy, and they complement each other so well.
“We’ll let you eat in peace, but first-” Jungkook gleamed like a child opening his gifts on Christmas day. Fuck, I am not equipped to handle this much pep in the morning. “I want to go over the plan with you for today. You have brunch with the Big Kim's at eleven and at six we have reservations at Virtuality. And you’re not allowed to wear sweatpants tonight.”
Groaning a little obnoxiously I sat down on the crumpled comforter and fell back against my bed, wincing when the sun shined right into my eyes.
“I know, I know. It’s the worst day of the year.” Jungkook retorted, his tone dripping with sarcasm. I heard his footsteps get closer and I braced myself in case he decided to jump on me this fucking early in the morning. “Everyone compliments you and tells you that you look fabulous even if they’re lying and they smile at you and give you gifts and basically make you the star of the room. Oh the horror.”
