Turns out, you can't call an ilu like you can call an Ikran.
I had been trying for two hours and I had got back, nothing.
I slapped the water down with my hand and groaned in frustration.
"Would you like some help?" I turned my head slowly to see Aonung.
"No." I said coldly.
"I am sorry for our greeting earlier." Aonung told me as he tried to connect eye contact. I scoffed.
"Let me help." He offered again.
"It is no use. I've tried." I said, getting more closer to my depth, I stood up, letting the water drip from my body as the water splashed against my hips.
"Let me help you."
I looked around cautiously, seeing if any of his friends were hiding.
"Just you?" I asked.
"It is just me." He rested a hand on his heart and I nodded.
"Fine... Thank you."
"You shouldn't call for an ilu anyway, it will be much better for you to have a skimwing."
"Try calling them." He gestured for me to call for one as his ilu appeared next to him.
"A skimwing?" I frowned, not wanting to question the son of a leader, but also remembering Jake saying they were only for warriors.
"Yes. Call for her." He nodded and showed me the call, which I repeated.
A skimwing was seen heading towards me, I jumped, a bit nervous as Aonung held her still for me, I noticed the veins popping out of his arm as he held her and I looked at him.
"Are you sure she's safe to ride?" I asked.
"Yes." He said with some annoyance in his voice.
"If you say so." I mumbled and connected the bond, she shot off before I even had chance to feel her, diving in and out of the water and in the air, seeing Tonowari and Jake on their own skimwing's. They noticed me and their faces grew to panic.
"JAKE!" I yelled out, scared as she dived into the water again, I felt my head hit the coral beside the reef as I fell off of her, everything started to go blurry as I tried to pull myself up for air.
With my vision blurry I saw a Skimwing heading back towards me,feeling it was the same one I rode as I managed to connect my queue to hers.
"WOOHHHOOOOOO! AEEEEEE!" I yelled out as we flew in the ear above the water.
"WOOHOOOOOO!" I called.
"THAT'S MY GIRL!" I heard Jake's yells of supports as the entire clan closed in on me when I reached the land.
"Your head is bleeding." Aonung's hand brushed over my temple and I hissed, hitting him away.
"I trusted you." I snarled.
"It was funny to watch." Rotxo laughed from behind him and Aonung hit him, turning back to me with a worried expression.
"You allowed this?" Ronal hissed at him.
Lo'ak pushing through the crowd, his breath shaky when he saw me as he pushed my head into his chest, squeezing me tightly.
"I was just playing. I am sorry mother." Aonung's ears flattened.
"Yo-" Lo'ak began but I hit his chest, telling him to be quiet. He let out a pained grunt.
"A skimwing is hard to master, we leave them for strong warriors." Tonowari looked to me and then to Jake.
"She is a strong warrior, no doubt, but with a little bit more help..." Aonung's father turned to him, growling.
"She could have avoided being hurt."
"Right... I'll deal with this one." Jake patted Lo'ak to move on, his arm still wrapped around me as we moved to our maruis.
"There is nothing to deal with Jake Sully, it is my son's fault." Tonowari explained.
"Alright." Jake breathed out. "Thank you."

"What was the one thing I asked?" Jake asked as we reached inside, where Neteyam and Neytiri were making food.
"Not to get into trouble." I mumbled.
"Baby girl, please." I looked up, he looked exhausted.
"It was not my fault, I called for an ilu but he told me I should go for a skimwing." My ears flattened.
"He did what?" Neteyam stood up, Jake set a hand on his shoulder.
"I did not want to question the chief's son." I explained
"No trouble. That's what I asked for." Jake bent down, his eyes trying to find mine, but I stared down at the floor, away from him.
"Okay." Jake breathed out.
"Just go make peace."
