"GUYS! HELP!" I swam off Lasi and onto Payakan, who seemed to have a tracker stuck into his side.
He let out a wail as Lo'ak reassured him.
I placed my hand on it and pulled as hard as I could, Aonung behind me, his arm reaching over to do the same.
"PULL HARDER!" Lo'ak yelled as we all had a grip on the tracker.
"Call for dad." I heard Neteyam tell his brother as I pulled, hearing Payakan wail once again.
"GUYS!" Tsireya pointed out a ship nearing to us.
"HURRY!" I screamed and jumped on the back of Lasi, pulling at the rope of the tracker and it broke off.
I wasted no time in directing the sky people away from Payakan and everyone around him.
"I'm not letting you do this alone." Neteyam sped up beside me before using only one hand to grab me, giving me no choice as he pulled me onto his ilu.
His hand wrapped around my thigh as he pulled me against him, making sure I was on tight before he zoomed off.
I dropped the tracker at the bottom of the ocean just as an explosion appeared beside me.
We swam up into an air pocket and I burst out a gasp, searching for air.
All of a sudden, Neteyam's lips smashed them self against mine, his hand holding my throat with a reminder that he was stronger as one hand rested on the air pocket, trapping me.
I moved my lips against his and he pushed me back with a light shove, attacking my lips, his breathing heavy as he stopped, restraining himself.
"What was-" I began, panting out for a breath.
"I'm normally the type to ask for permission, but you make me forget everything I've ever known." He shook his head.
"Neteyam..." i started.
"I know this isn't a good time." He admitted.
"I want you to choose me."
All of a sudden, I saw Tuk swim beneath us.
"Tuk!" I called before gasping for a breath, swimming to her.
She turned around and clutched onto me, I stroked her hair and pushed her with all my force to Neteyam as I watched a net come towards us.
I kicked my legs away, watching Neteyam and Tuk swim further away as a hand grabbed my wrist, skimming me above the surface with them before they dived down into the deep water.
It was Aonung.
I nudged him, telling him I couldn't hold my breath anymore and he started to swim up to the surface, one hand on his ilu and one had on my wrist still.
I gasped for air and looked around.
"Are you okay?" He asked and I nodded, noticing we were in the middle of a group of warriors on skimwings.
Jake was there. He let out a sigh of relief as he saw me.
"Take Tuk and Kiri back." Tonowari ordered to Rotxo, he turned back at me.
"And take Tsierya and Terina back too Anoung." I looked behind me to see the three girls holding each other for comfort.
"Where is Neteyam and Lo'ak?" I asked.
"On the ship." Jake mumbled, regretting what he had said as soon as possible. I shot to face him and he shook his head.
"We must go." I told him.
"We can't act now." Jake shook his head.
"Yes. We can."
I called loudly for my skimwing, the stubborn but loyal girl who I had met on my first day here.
She raced along and I watched as she flew in the air, landing in front of me.
"You and me." I created the bond with her and she shook with adrenaline.
"Kä." Go.
