Rose burst through the weak curtain with both arms and welcomed the sweet breath of fresh air. The sun was shining high above in the sky, attacking her tan arms. For once no one seemed to have the necessity to stare at her. She looked around the camp, everyone doing their jobs like everything was back to normal. A couple sitting on a picnic table eating lunch with a newborn baby nestled in the women's arms. Rose couldn't imagine having to raise a child in general let alone during the apocalypse. It sounded like a nightmare. She turned her head toward the garden where a young girl had in her face in the dirt surrounding the newly growing garden. The little girl had beautiful long blonde hair. A bright smile on her face as she tended to the flowers.

Without realizing it she walked closer to the little girl. Watching as her gentle hands smoothed the dirt around the flowers

"Do you like them? My mommy says one day this will be full of flowers of all colors!" The young girl exclaimed. Her eyes lit with happiness.

She realized no one warned her about the dangerous stranger who kept entering their camp.

"Here." The young girl stood up brushing the dirt from the apron she was wearing that was obviously way too big for her petite body. Her wild blonde bouncing on her shoulders. Rose felt the tingle in the center of her palms where the girl placed a crumbled violet flower.

"A little secret. I like to keep all the dying flowers we replace. They are too pretty to throw away." The little girl said closing Rose's hands over the delicate dying flower. Then she went back to patting the dirt and adding water to the newly fresh flowers. It was a beautiful sight. Something to make people forget about the dangers lurking outside their protective walls.

Rose wanted to thank the girl for the flower. But then she felt a sharp pain on her elbow. She was dragged away from the garden. The sharp pain dragging her behind the wall. She stood behind the school, just a few feet from the garden, but in the dark hidden from view of everyone.

"What is your deal?" She snapped at Tyler who still had his hands gripped tightly on her elbow. A red mark appearing on her skin. Just when she thinks she gets away he keeps appearing in front of her.
"I had to make sure you were alright." He slid his fingers down her arm until they met the inside of her wrist.

"Don't pretend you care about me." She violently shoved him, the feeling of his touch rising a fire in her chest.

Tyler had the audacity to look shocked at her words. Like they have any connection prior to the supply run.

"Look Rose there is something you should know." His head shook sideways like he was paranoid someone could be eavesdropping. She wished someone was so they could pull her away from this conversation.

"I know about David. He told me knew about the aliens new development."

"He did?"

"Yes and since it is apart of your army, why don't you deal with it and leave me the hell alone!" She shoved her shoulder into his leaving him. She didn't care what the aliens were planning. Nothing was new. Her plan still remained the same. She needed to remain strong and kill the remaining of the alien race and anyone who stands in her way. If Tyler wasn't careful his name may just end up on that list.

She was supposed to die. She was always supposed to die, and unfortunate for the aliens she promised her life would mean something. She would be the one to takedown the aliens even if it kills her. She trained her body and mind for months so she would be ready for anything. One day soon she would relish hell on those creatures. She just needed a little more time before she attempted this suicide mission. David wasn't the only one with a master plan.
