All of the lights bore together as tears streamed down her face. She ran barely escaping the alien's grasp. His claws tearing the thin fabric of her light blue night grown. She didn't see the stranger that saved her. She only heard the scream of someone she didn't know getting torn from the beast who claimed her as a victim moments prior. She ran, tears streaming down her face. She ran as fast as her short legs would take her. She ran further into the darkness, further away from the only home she knew.

Barefoot. Red claw marks marked her skin. Blood seeped through her dress. She walked along the side of an abandoned highway. Abandoned Cars stretched on for miles. Blood everywhere. Bodies lay scattered. She wanted to cradle herself into a ball, cry letting the darkness engulf her. She continued on grateful there were no scenes of the alien that attacked. The aliens were responsible for taking her away from her perfectly happy family.

Her body ached for her to stop moving. Every muscle hurt, every bone in her body begging for rest. She risked a look behind her, terrified of seeing the vicious creatures ready to kill her like everyone else. Were her father and sister still alive? The only thing she saw was the blurry lines of the cars, tears occupying her vision. She froze anxious thoughts rushing into her mind. She looked ahead at the miles of cars that appeared in front of her. They seemed to go on forever. She couldn't move, she needed to find shelter. Her body couldn't take much more.

With all her lasting strength she reached for the ledge on the edge of the road and threw her body over. Her feet landed in the grass. The wet damp grass was the only thing that brought her comfort. She then limped her way in the darkness. Entering the woods.

Feeling like the child she was, she climbed a tree. Layed her thin body on the thick branch. For the first time that night she felt safe. She felt like she was out of reach from the aliens. No one could harm her as long as she stayed in this tree. Just like she watched Katniss Everdeen hide in tree from her predators. Thinking about movie Hunger Games made her think about the million times she watched it with her best friend Alex.

Just the thought of his name send tears streaming down her already damp face. She placed a hand over her mouth trying to silent the screams of grief. All out once the shock left her, everything came crushing down. Everything that happened in the mirror of hours or however long it has been. No hint at what number would of been on her alarm clock on her nightstand, only the dark night sky over her head. Her moment of rest allowed the crushing moments to come racing through her head. Alex dying in the middle of the street, Her sister tight in her arms, her father locking her out. The alien's evil crimson eyes glaring into her, pouncing instantly on her flesh.

She covered her hands over her face, weeping. She pressed the only strong grip she had against the tree holding her steady. She was abandoned. She was truly alone in a more dangerous world than she could ever dream of.
