Yanique's POV
Monday 6:16 am.
"Babe I'm not a morning person" I fuss as I get inside the car. He has been extremely grumpy and unreasonable. I mean, who ends a vacation so abruptly with no explanation whatsoever.
"Yuh always pack di world" he says while he loads my bags inside.
"Why we even have to leave this early?"I ask for the hundredth time.
We've only spent two nights here. I don't want to sound like a drag queen but we didn't even get to use the pool! I only got a few good pictures.
"Just change of plans babe , we'll be back" he gets into the drivers seat and closes the door.
"When?" I pout while I put on my seatbelt.
"Soon" he starts the engine.
I do my best to be understanding about this situation.
It's just odd, Lando isn't the most outspoken person but even this seems a bit beneath him.
Nevertheless I'm grateful for the two days we've spent here.I should probably ask how soon is soon but I draw the full stop.
"Yuh wah travel in the back seat suh yuh can get some rest while mi rub yuh foot?"
He tries to win me over , it won't be that easy but I'll work with it, after all I am still sleepy.
I stare at him deadpan for a while before I get into the backseat.I mean I normally sleep throughout the journey so it doesn't matter to me but he still owes me an explanation.
He looks back at me through the rear view mirror.
"Fix yuh face man" he smiles and I roll my eyes.
Lando's POV
After two hours of driving we arrived home, sparing me a couple minutes to link the lady. Definitely not on her timing but it is what works best for me at this point .
I ignore another call from Busshead as I park inside the garage. This is the fourth call in a row.
Mi nuh get wah suh bloodclaat important bout Lady P timing and not mine.
I unload the car and Max makes circles around me as I do so. When I'm finished I decide to wake Miss sleeping beauty. All that commotion and she hasn't moved a limb.
I blow in her ear.
Yanique's POV
The heavy wind rushes through my ear causing me to immediately hear a loud whistle , then comes a popping sound like bubbles.
My vision is a little blurry when I open my eyes.
"Lando" I says as I make out the person hovering over me.
"Di one and only" he grins.
Extremely tired but grateful to now realize that we are home , I slowly get out of his car struggling to find my balance. For some strange reason my left ear feels like something is stuck inside.
Sleep can really hold you captive.
When we get inside I succumb to my drowsiness and fall into the couch not able to take a foot further.
"No ..no , bedroom" Lando says then picks me up like a baby and carries me to the bedroom. He tucks me into his warm and cozy bed.
Much better.
I get the feeling he isn't gonna join me.
"Where are you going?" I ask in a sleepy voice.
His failure to answer my question suddenly wipes away all the trace of sleepiness that was once inside my body.I sit.
He moves hastily around the room in search of something , my adrenaline pumps.
"Get some sleep, mi soon fawud" he picks up his bike keys.
This is suppose to be a new chapter in our lives. I can't accept his same old behaviors being lured into what we have going on now. Maybe for a second I got way over my head thinking the changes would be permanent, guess I was wrong for that or I'm probably overthinking.
He looks at me as if he has somehow read my mind, probably the sadness in my eyes gave it away.
"First the sudden change in our vacation time, now you are leaving in a hurry without an explanation."
I sigh.
"Just business babe, by yuh fi wake up mi deh ya" he kisses my forehead then plant another on my cheek.
Oh Lord!
Something tells me I should retaliate but apart of me is dying to continue conceal myself in this little peace I've found since he has been back.
He leaves the room and I go straight to bed.
It will play out by itself.
4:13pm
I woke up from a long well deserved rest and went straight to the bathroom to take a shower. After which I started dinner and then realized I need to do a little grocery shopping.
I actually started to love running errands, yes it can be stressful but nevertheless it's one of those things that reminds me of how far I've came in the past couple of months.
Doing things on my own still feels like one of my greatest strengths and achievements.
I add a little more salt to the pot to get it boiling, I then add the neatly chopped yams. I put the bananas in a separate pot because I have no luck when it comes on to these.
The brown stew chicken is done so I turn off the stove and begin to clean the area.
When the food is completely finish I share myself a plate and sit around the table. As I dig in , I busy my brain with making a list of things we need. This way I have something to look forward to doing tomorrow.
I should definitely start looking at Christmas decorations for the house too but I am not certain if Lando celebrates the holidays. It would be much easier if I could stay at my own place but the thought of us arguing about it scares me. He wouldn't agree to such a thing and I wouldn't want to complicate things right now.
It's already complicated... you don't even know where he is at this present moment.
I place my phone on the table and finish picking at my food.
Uugghh
Will it always be like this for us? I really want more , a lot more happy moments and no more tiptoeing on ice when I'm around him.
I hear the loud sound of his bike before I look at the camera. It's him.
Max starts barking in excitement.
My mood suddenly lifts and my heart leaps up with joy. I can barely conceal my delight , this is what he does to me.
