5 years later (25 years old)

"Morning love" Louis wishpered in Harry's ear as he peppered kisses all over his neck.

Harry's eyes fluttered open and his lips stretched into a sleepy smile that quickly changed to a frown, his eyes darting away as he let Louis take his breathing mask.

"Oh, Haz... Come here..." Louis soothed even before he could notice the first tear in Harry's eyes.

He wrapped his arms around his husband and rolled so that they were both on their sides, facing each other. Louis slipped his thigh between Harry's bonny legs and hugged him close after settling his weak arm around his waist and holding his free hand to his chest.

"I- I was dreaming... And I could hug you properly..." Harry sighed quietly, adding a slight pressure on Louis' fingers.

"Shh... I know, love. I remember and I always will. I'll always be here to hold you twice as hard for the both of us" Louis squeezed back, reaching forward to kiss Harry's lips.

Harry kissed back, their breaths mingling as he did his best to caress Louis' waist up and down now that the position didn't make him fight gravity.

"Lou?" Harry asked halting his movements and pulling away.

"Hm?" Louis hummed, pecking his nose.

"W-what if... I- I'll never get to hold  o-our child... What if by the time they call us I can't even caress them...? O-or I can't kiss them...? What if I w-won't be there when they ride their bike for the first time?" Harry spoke looking at their hands.

Louis was quiet for a minute, pondering Harry's words as he played with his long fingers. It wasn't the first time one of them had this kind of thoughts but they always hit just as hard.

"Then I'll hold your arms for you to hold them... Then I'll move your hands for you to caress them as much as you want... Then I'll kiss them twice as much for you and we'll make sure they know how much you love them just by a bat of your eyelids... And if- if you c-can't be there when they learn to ride their bike... T-then I promise they'll know you are the one watching over them- us day and night wherever we are..." Louis replied, a finger under Harry's chin to keep their eyes on eachothers.

"I love you, Lou. I don't know what I did to deserve you but I'm so so glad I have you. And you'll be the best dad to ever exist" Harry smiled reaching his hand to wipe the single tear sliding down Louis' face.

"We. We'll be. Together" Louis nodded, kissing Harry's tears away.

A year later (26 years old)

"Lou. Louis. Wake up" Harry repeatedly prodded the arm resting over his chest.

"Mmm... What? Did your mask slip off?" Louis groaned, burying his nose in Harry's shoulder.

"No. I need you to wake up" He continued prodding as much as he could.

" 'kay. 'm up, 'm up. What's wrong?" Louis sat up rubbing his eyes.

"What if she doesn't like her room? She might not like the color, we should have chosen the lighter shade" Harry rambled expressively staring at Louis with wide eyes.

"Haz. They told us blue was her favourite colour... And the room is plain so that she can choose what she wants. We can repaint it if she wants to. We talked about this" Louis sighed and rolled Harry on his side to lay behind him, holding him close to his chest.

"Yes. Yes. Okay. We'll change whatever she wants" Harry nodded.

"Mhm. We will" Louis kissed his neck, relaxing again.
