Weeks had gone by, and so far, the school year was going great for Koga, he even felt he was making a little progress in getting Inuyasha to simmer down a bit and be calm when he talked. He didn't even swear at him when he asked to borrow a pencil the other day, though the boy was still wary of Koga's intentions.

Now it was time for Chemistry, the last class Koga had with Inuyasha, though they sat pretty far away from each other so Koga was never able to talk to him, or at least attempt to.

"Alright class, so today we will be starting your first project of the school year," the teacher started, causing the whole class to groan in annoyance. "Hush, its not that bad. There are a list of holiday related topics on the board, I will choose your partners and then you and your partner will pick a holiday and a topic that corresponds with it."

Koga gradually zoned out as she read off the names, thinking about how his work is going to pile up now that football practice has started. Though he was quickly snapped back to reality as the teacher called his name.

"And lastly, Koga and Inuyasha. Now get with your partners and get to it. This is due next Monday and we will present then and Tuesday."

Koga seemed to light up when he heard that he was partners with Inuyasha, though it didn't take long for the anxiety to kick in. How was Inuyasha going to react? Did he even participate in group projects?

Again, Koga was brought from his thoughts by someone new sitting in front of him. He was so zoned out that he didn't even realize that people had moved to their partners, and now Inuyasha was sitting in front of him.

"Oh, sorry Inuyasha, I didn't-" Koga started, though he was cut off by the other male.

"It's fine, so, let's figure out what we're doing so we can get this over with," he said, already seeming done with this whole ordeal.

"Yeah, right. So do you have a favorite holiday for this? I'm alright with anything." Inuyasha didn't seem like he wanted to respond, not used to people asking him what his favorite things were or seemed to show any interests in what he liked. Koga immediately took notice to Inuyasha's change in demeanor, "you don't have to tell me if you don't want to, I can pick if its easier for you."

This threw Inuyasha for a loop, and he just simply responded, "Halloween," in a low, almost muffled voice.

Now we're getting somewhere, Koga thought, smiling a little at the fact that he didn't brush him off completely. It sounded to him like a genuine response.

"Great! I like that holiday too. Do you dress up or anything for Halloween?" Koga asked, almost seeing how far he could go with the conversation.

Inuyasha chose not to respond, instead diverting the conversation away from it completely. "Did you want to pick the topic then since I picked the holiday?"

Koga sighed in defeat, but refused to let it alter his now better mood. "Hmmm, how about something cool like blood? I bet there is a tone of stuff we can find on the chemistry of blood."

Inuyasha almost seemed to smile a bit, "that's fine."

"So I know there isn't gonna be a bunch of class time to work on this, so did you maybe want to meet up after my football practice?" Koga offered, kind of scared of what the other males response was going to be.

"I guess so, where did you want to meet up?"

"Well I was thinking either your house or the park. I have a lot of people at my house so it might not be the best place if we want to get work done."

Inuyasha sighed, "I guess my house can work. I'll pick you up after your practice so you don't get lost."

Koga smiled, "thanks! Practice ends at six, is that okay?"
