"Siva is fine Your Majesty and you haven't known much about me so don't get to conclusions soon" Siva drank her juice making everyone amused at her tone.
"Raja guru said that it'll be better if we perform a chandi homam for people sake" The King said making VR nod.
"Make the arrangements and invite everyone in the village for lunch" VR ordered and continued in a soft tone "Nanna (Dad) will sit in the homam this time" which made Deva sigh and curtly noded before getting up after his breakfast.

The next day homam arrangements were going in the middle of the garden where a dias was built especially for the occasions like these. The homa gundam was placed in the middle of the dias and the poojari gaaru along with his disciples chanted mantras while Deva sat down on the wooden stool dressed in pattu panche (lungi) and a red shawl around his torso.

"Amma! The aadapaduchu(girl child) of the Raayala family come forward and start the fire in the gundam" Poojari gaaru insisted making Chandra walk forward and lit the match stick before throwing it in the gundam making the fire burn and everyone joined their hands praying to it.

Poojari gaaru tied the kankanam (raksha) to Deva's right hand and started chanting mantras as the King clasped the rudrakshas around Deva's neck. Deva then started pouring ghee into the homa gundam slowly as Raja guru said "Chant the mrityunjaya mantram until the homam is done your majesty".
Deva chanted it silently pouring ghee then some nava dhanyalu into the homa gundam. The homam took two hours to complete and family members stood around the dias while the villagers sat on the ground praying and talking looking at the Prince performing the homam.
"Nandi?" Siva whispered and walked towards the ox smiling.
"He literally dragged me here Sivamma" Jagan complained making Siva turn towards the homam.
"I think he missed his Mahadev" Siva said making everyone look at Deva who stood up and took the cloth with coconut, pasupu, kumkuma and navadhanyalu and threw it in the homa gundam giving aahuti.
Everyone stood along with him and prayed the god for wealth and happiness as Nandi walked away ignoring everyone towards Deva who faced the crowd and got down the dias, walking directly towards Nandi and gave him the bananas used in the prasaadam.
He caressed Nandi's head and took the vibhuti applying on it's forehead with a small dot of sindhur in the middle "No one will harm you again my friend. I won't let them" promising he fed another banana to Nandi before walking towards the Raja guru.
Deva gave prasaadam to him and his family members before giving the plate to Suri who distributed the prasaadam to everyone and directed them to the lunch area while Deva gave thambulam to the poojari gaaru and his disciples who performed the homam and sent them off respectfully.
Malli cleaned a part of the dias with clean water and rubbed the place dry making Deva sit down on the dias as Pallavi came to Hima and Siva who were looking at Nandi kneeling at the dias beside Deva while Malli bought the food items to serve him.
"Whoever performs the homam has to eat and sleep on floor for nine days until Shivaratri" Hima explained making Siva, Arun and Gaurika raise their eyebrows.
"Let's have lunch. I'm starving" saying Pallavi dragged Hima and Gaurika.
Hima paused in her steps sensing that Siva is not following them and turned around in search of Siva which only made her still.
"Hima! Why did you sto...." Gaurika trailed off looking at Siva shockingly along with Arun,Pallavi and Hima.
