Everyone reached the temple by seven'o clock to see it crowded with so many people and games for kids along with a lot of food stalls surrounding the temple giving it a feel of jaatara like a festival.
Poojari gaaru along with the president and his wife invited the King and his family as Pallavi handed the taambulam to the president's wife before washing feet and going inside to the garbagudi.
There the Shiva lingam was a spatika lingam which is made of pure white marble giving it a unique aura & beauty. Everyone stood as the poojari garu changed mantras while Deva changed into pattu panche and shawl covering his torso.
He walked towards the shivalingam and poured ganga water, then kumkuma water and turmeric water then he showered the lingam with milk and flowers making Rudra ring the bells continuously making everyone alert and turned towards the temple.
Deva climbed to the gopuram, the top of the temple with the steps built from inside and lit the cuprum and showed the aarati to everyone making everyone take blessings. It was visible to the whole village since the temple is in the middle of the village.
After the aarati everyone sat down for Shiva-Parvati kalyanam in the mandapam on two sides one group on bride side, one group on groom side. The King, Pallavi and Siva sat on groom side whilst remaining family sat on bride's side.
The villagers also took their sides some on the King's, some on the Prince's side as poojari gaaru sat in between like the pelli pedda as everyone sat silently thinking of a way to start when Siva took the stand saying "Those many guys on the bride side I wonder if the girl has bought up in the same way as a guy".
Everyone widened their eyes at Siva's statement as Chandra said "Hey! Girl what rubbish are you talking? Do you even know who the bride is? The most beautiful of all the women in the world. Your groom is no match at all for our girl".
Pallavi scoffed "No match? Didn't you know that the bride's brother Sri Maha Vishnu himself is a big devotee of our groom?"
The King smiled as Mahi raised her eyebrow saying proudly "Oh! Really even your groom is also a big devotee of our Maha Vishnu and not only that we are atleast decent with our clothing and the way we present ourselves but you...you all smell like Ash. While our bride is bought up as a Princess, your groom doesn't even have a home"
Everyone on the groom's side opened their mouths at Mahi's words as the King stated "Even if our groom doesn't have a proper home he takes the people the same way they are and doesn't show any difference amongst the people unlike you people who always say traditions, rituals" making Pallavi and Siva stick out their tongue at the bride's side people.
"We atleast provide proper food, bed and clothes unlike your Shiv who stays in bone eating cold icy mountains and walk amongst cemeteries" Rudra said.
Pallavi snorted "That means he will never leave you even in your death. What more a girl wants than this from her husband?"
The bride side stayed calm not knowing what to say making Siva and Pallavi hifi the King from both sides of him but soon their smile vanished when Deva spoke "That doesn't mean he treats our girl the same way taking her to cemeteries. What makes you so sure that he'll not leave her just for his mere devotee?"
"Love and responsibility are two different things and I'm sure our groom knows how to differ them" Siva stated.
"Really? That's why he made our bride wait too long and even made her do tapasya for so long before his rock heart melted" Rudra scoffed.
"Is your bride any different from our groom then? She sacrificed herself and left him all alone just because her father badmouthed her husband" Pallavi said.
"Are you even listening to yourself? Your groom made our girl face so many challenges and she had to endure all that just because...she loves him" Deva said.
"Excuse me! In every lifetime it was my Mahadev who waited for his only love to be reborn so he could reunite with her. So I think it's our groom...who suffered the most of all" Siva said as if she realised something looking at Deva.
