Elemental Love- (ON HOLD)

Chapter 1

I skipped walking home from school today. I was so happy that I managed to find a friend. My first friend! When I opened the screen door to the stupid tattered old foster home, that's when the thought hit me. I need an excuse to go over her house. I never snuck out before, no siree! That's definitely not like me, but on the other hand, I will if I have to. Sue will expect me to do the laundry, dishes, vacuum, and clean her room. Mike on the other hand might let me go to Lily's house. I don't quite know though. The only job Mike has ever given me was to sweep up the throw up from one of the 15 cats they have. I know it may sound bad, but trust me you DO NOT want him to bend over. For sure he will have the plumbers' buttcrack hanging out. Maybe he was kind enough so my eyes won't be sccared forever.

Which I appreciate. I walked inside and braced myself for a wave of a ciggerate smell. When I ask I have to make sure I talk to only Mike. I spot Mike on the couch with the moldy potatoe chips. We don't have t.v since Sue couldn't pay the cable company. So, Mike was just sitting, staring at nothing. Except the frequent glances at the potatoe chip bag, so he could grab a chip. Mike was over weight. He always did nothing and stared at the wall, so eating the moldy potato chips was his thing. This was my chance, I had to ask before Sue got home from work. "Hey Mike." I said casually. Small talk, then ask about the hangout. "Hey, didn't even see you." Mike replied. "Yeah, so how was your day?" I responded and obviously did not care.

"Fine"

"Great! Um...." I was running out of casual small talk. I decided to go for it and ask.

"Can I ppplllleeeaasssseee go over a friends house for an hour! I will do all my chores when I come home!"

"Talk to Sue" Mike replied. That thought struck me in the back. It was useless I knew she would say no. I would talk to her, though I knew I had to sneak out.

-2 hours later-

The screen door slammed shut and I got the shivers. Sue was home. I wanted to try small talk, but I have a feeling it will turn up as useless as it did with Mike. I just cut to the chase. I walked up to Sue. "Hi Sue! What a beautiful day!" I said casually. " Wadda you want kid, I ain't got time for you, I got a life ya know." Sue responded. Sue was a fifty year old woman. She had a snaggle tooth, matted old brown hair with hazel eyes to complete her over all wrinkley obese look.

"I was wondering if I could go over to a friends house for an hour, I got done all of my chores, PLEASE?"

"N-o that spells NO, if you are even smart." She replied. I stomped away in anger and frustration. I went to my room, slammed the door and jumped on my bed. The same cat that threw up on the floor was on the bed. We both stared at each other for a long time. When we were done I looked out the window. For the first time ever, me, Avani Rosewood would be doing something bad. I am sneaking out.
