Deep in the woods an ancient temple stands, this temple is the training grounds to many young warriors. These warriors come from generations of previous warriors, headmasters watch as each warrior trains their attention turns to a young warrior training on her own, they know what she's capable of, they watch as they know what's going on and what she's going through. A gong rings telling the warriors that training is done they leave to their headquarters the headmasters leave.
Alex's POV
I glance up seeing the Headmasters on the balcony above watching as we train everyday it's the same thing, wake up, eat breakfast, meditate, train, lunch, more meditation, and train until we have to go to bed no fun or games only train to become stronger, the schedule remains the same but the only thing that doesn't remain the same is the students every year new students arrive, I hear the same welcome by the headmasters I should be up there with them reciting the welcome all the students who arrive are young my guess high schoolers. I look around knowing that this is the last time I will see this group before the new group comes, I gather my stuff and head to my room.
" Hey Alex, wait up."
" Hey Derek"
" How's it going?"
" Good, nice job today with training"
" Thanks, um if you want, we can train together."
" Thanks Derek but I'd rather train by myself."
" Oh, so you're more of the lone wolf type huh"
" I guess you can say that."
" Well, if you change your mind, you know where to find me"
" Thanks Derek, but tomorrow is your last day."
" I know it's crazy how fast the year went"
" Yeah it is."
" I'll see you tomorrow, good night Alex."
" Good night, Derek, see you tomorrow."
I look away this has been my 20th year at the ancient temple I don't know my parents or their whereabouts all they left me was a flute. I watch as the students come and go, I'm left by myself and wait for the next group to come I step outside and head to my favorite spot which looks out the lake I pull out my flute and begin to play I stop and turn around sensing someone's presence I scan the area and shake my head I continue to play my song.Back in the temple the Headmasters head to the meeting room they take a seat as Headmaster Dane stands before his compeers.
" Sorry to call this meeting late, but we need to discuss about Alex."
Headmaster Jade turns looking at Dane worried, Jade loved Alex as if she was her own.
" What about?"
" You know every year is the same for her I know it's hard for her to watch as others leave, and she has to stay behind."
" I'm worried about her."
Jade's sister Piper, turns looking at her sister putting a hand on her shoulder.
" We all are."
Headmaster Taran shakes his head feeling bad for Alex he knows she should be out there with her family.
" I can't imagine how she feels, being here the longest out of the other warriors."
The other headmasters begin to talk overlapping one another's conversation Jade stands up placing her hands on the table causing the others to look over at her.
" You know why she's here we promised we'd take care of her."
Kayla, Taran's sister turns to Jade giving her a look and shakes her head.
" She's already started to ask about her parents."
" Kayla, we don't even know who they are all they left was a note saying please take care of her."
Taran stands up he moves to the window looking out, he spots Alex sitting on a bench looking up at the full moon he turns back looking at the others.
" Tomorrow parents will come picking up their children, we'll see what happens"
Jade shakes her head looking down at the table.
" It's going to be the same thing they come, they leave, and Alex remains you see what it does to her."
Dane holds up his hand silencing the others they take their seats; Dane takes a deep breath and sighs he hates seeing his students come and go but he knows he has helped them become better people he wants the best for Alex, but he knows it's time for her to go" I think its time she goes out to find her parents"
" Dane, we promised we'd take care of her"
" I know we did Jade, but sitting here waiting for her parents isn't going to help her find them"
Piper nods in agreement
" Dane's right she needs to start looking for her parents she always welcomed her anytime but it's time for her to move on"
" I don't want to see her get hurt."
" You know what she's capable of, she can take care of herself."
" Then that settles it tomorrow we tell her the news"
The other headmasters nod in agreement. In another part of the woods an evil force grows, in a hidden cave lays the lair of the Barbarics. The leader of the Barbaric's is Akar, his second in command Sarka, a ruthless warrior who won't back down from a fight, and Valdis, Akar's brother, his goons the Bargon's wait his command.
Akar paces deep in thought, Sarka and Valdis watch as they wait to see what he does. Akar stops he turns facing Sarka and Valdis his yellow eyes bore into theirs.
