Ch.8 Friendly Advice

Alex's POV

After getting to know my teammates parents and learning about them I felt like I was finally getting a family but even though Taylor told me some details about my father it still feels like the trail is growing colder and colder I'm getting nowhere close to finding out who they are I know the others are doing their best to help me I begin to have thousands of run through my mind what if they don't want to be found, what if they don't want me back, what if they're gone? I'm on the verge of giving up. David walks up to me worried

" Hey you ok?"

" No, I'm not ok the trail for my parents seems to grow colder and colder, David what if we don't find them?"

" We have to keep trying remember what Taylor told you and she gave you some clues on who your dad was"

" Yeah a jacket, morpher, and animal crystals are a huge help she didn't even tell me his name"

Angela looks over at me 

" Did Princess Shayla tell you?"

" No she didn't tell me anything neither did the wildzords"

William shakes his head

" Dang that's harsh"

David looks over at me placing a hand on my shoulder

" What if they're protecting you?"

" Protecting me from what? Zen-Aku cause they're sure doing a wonderful job at that"

" Think about it Alex what if your parents sent you to the ancient temple to be safe from something other than Zen-Aku" 

" If they did why didn't they come back?"

William walks up to me placing his hands on my shoulders 

" What if the threat is still out there looking for you"

" Well I'm sure they know who I am by now"

" Alex, you know we're trying to help you"

" I know and I appreciate it but nothing we do is getting me closer to figuring out who they are"

Chris shakes his head

" Wait so you're giving up on trying to find your parents"

" The trail is dead Chris, I'm getting nowhere close I'm sorry you guys but I'm calling off the search"

The ranger's jaws drop hearing my news William walks up to me 

" You can't give up now Alex"

Allyson puts a hand on my shoulder

" What if they're looking for you?"

" No they're not"

Angela crosses her arms

" How do you know that"

"I just know"

" So is that it then you're just going to quit on them, just like that"

" Yes I am, you don't understand what I'm going through at least you have a mom and dad who love and care about you I have no one until you know what I'm going through you have no right to tell me anything and you know what I'm done here"

I take off the lunar caller and jacket I lay them in front of the others I pull out the animal crystals placing them on top of the jacket David looks at me shaking his head

" Alex don't do this"

"I'm sorry for wasting your time"

I grab my flute and belongings and head out what if I wasn't supposed to find my parents, what if I'm supposed to be alone in this cruel world I walk along the road until I come upon a roadhouse. I walk up to the roadhouse and look up at the sign Willie's Roadhouse I walk inside a few people are inside relaxing I walk up to the bar taking a seat I put my hands on my head letting out a sigh

" You ok?"

I glance over to my left a woman is sitting next to me she looks at me concerned I give her a small nod

" Yeah I'm good"

She gives me a small smirk and laugh 

"I have two of my own I know that tone and it doesn't look like your good to me"

I look over at her letting out an annoyed huff

" I'm just going through a rough time alright"

The woman turns to me 

" Do you want to talk about it?"

" No offense but I don't know you"

" Fair point"

I look over at the woman next to me why does she look so familiar I feel like I know her somehow I let out a sigh

" But there is something about you that makes you seem trustworthy"

" Hey I'm all ears if you need someone to talk to"

" Well its it, I don't know"

" What's wrong?"

" I thought coming to the city would help me figure out who I am and what I'm supposed to do with my life but so far I've come up with nothing don't get me wrong I've made some good friends they've tried to help me along this wild path but I feel like I'm getting nowhere like I'm stuck at the starting line, stuck in a loop. I've encountered many weird creatures I've been attacked by a wolf like creature that almost cost me my life and I'm at the point where I just want to give up"
