I was, confused. Curious, but mostly confused. More than I've ever been. It was not all that difficult to last one night, but, what about the other nights? What was up with P.G? Is he...hiding something?
I heaved home very tiredly and weak, as if I had ten bricks upon my back. I ignored my parents as I walked up the stairs and collapsed on my bed.
I admit, it is hard work to be stating up all night to flip like crazy through cameras, keep pressing flashlights, wind up music boxes, and through it all, have this tension, this fear, like it is right there, always behind your back. I sighed as I let myself find relaxation through all the covers of my bed. My eyes closed with a drop...
"Jeremy? Jeremy? You need to go to work now," A force was shaking me as my eyes opened.
"How long was-?"
"I was trying to wake you up before 11pm, but you didn't wake up at all! Just sleeping there from 7am to 11pm!" My mother gave me her annoyed tone.
"7am to 11pm!? How? How is that possible? I nearly slept a day away!" I jumped from my bed.
"Well, either your job is heaving you past your breaking point or you are just a very tired boy!" My mother was fetching my clothes.
"I think it's the first one," I picked up the clothes she gave me as I went to my bathroom to change.
"Speaking of which, how was your first day? I mean, night?" My mother asked.
"Tough, I know I'm a little lazy, probably very lazy, but it is tough. That's the only word I could say about it." I was going to say something like 'Terrifying' or 'Scary' but I didn't want to worry my mother. I bet she was worried already.
"Tough? Well, you have to stay up, watch cameras, monitor the place at night, heck, I bet it gives you the chills, and practically stay rooted in one spot all night." I came out of my bathroom as my mother spoke.
"Well, after my first pay check, I'll quit." I buttoned my t-shirt.
"No! You need the money! I mean, I love having you stay here with me and your father but you need your own place, a good job at the least. Quit when you have enough money for a suitable place and when you find another job." She scolded.
"Fine, fine." Here comes another stressful night...
I drove and parked back in my spot at Freddy's. Grabbing my keys, I unlocked the front doors. I was familiarized with the checkered floor, the drawings kids drew, and the animatronics.
They were just, still, showing, without showing, that they were cautious of my presence. I almost ran to my office. I really hated this job, just after one night, I can tell I'm going to hate this job.
Walking down the very thick hallway, I found my office, sitting down in my chair. Lifting the tablet, I found it was 12:03, I was already flipping through the cameras.
Keeping close to the Freddy head in case something, or someone was to pop up.The phone rang.
I pressed it on voicemail. "Ah, hello, hello? Uh, see, I told you your first night wouldn't be a problem. You're a natural!"
"Huh," I kept my eyes on my tablet, shifting through all the cameras, quickly winding up the box. Everyone was still in their positions.
"Uh, by now I'm sure you've noticed the older models sitting in the back room. Uh, those are from the previous location. We just use them for parts now. The idea at first was to repair them...uh, they even started retrofitting them with some of the newer technology, but they were so ugly, you know? The smell...uh, so the company decided to go in a whole new direction and make them super kid-friendly."
