Mike just stared at Jeremy.
There was nothing he could say, nothing he could do besides stare horror-struck at Jeremy.
"I told you it would be best not to tell you, the nightmare should have been left alone."
"What-what happened to Phone guy? And you?"
"I got fired, even though I already quit, and many believed I was the one to tamper with the animatronics. They just assumed it was me, they barely had any evidence so they didn't arrest me or called me the cause of the Bite. Phone guy was just a plain coward, he barely talked or showed himself after the Bite. I did visit that one kid who survived, the one without the frontal lobe. He seems traumatized after the incident, he barely talked, poor kid."
"I-I..." Mike could barely bring words together. The story sounded so unbelievable, yet believable.
"It's tough to believe it isn't it?" Jeremy spoke.
"Yes, yes it is yet it also makes sense. I really am sorry you had to experience that. What happened to the another animatronics?" Mike asked, he knew that he should have stopped this conversation but he was still curious.
"The old animatronics got repaired and obviously used for the new pizzeria. Mangle, B.B and The puppet, I don't know what happened to them but I'm sure they are still at the pizzeria. Probably deactivated. The other ones, I really smashed Toy Freddy, Toy Chica, and Toy Bonnie to bits. I think they were beyond repair. Maybe the pizzeria still kept those broken parts of the Toy animatronics."
"Didn't they find the souls in the animatronics?" Mike asked.
"Souls are very hard to find Mike, once they are gone, they are gone. Once they are trapped, then they're lost."
"Oh," Mike looked down at his hands, intwined with each other. "Part of me really doesn't want to go back to the pizzeria, I might...die."
There was silence between the two, Jeremy sipped on his coffee. "Then don't, your safety matters more than curiosity."
"Yes, but, there are other reasons as well."
"They are?"
"I have my kid, no one else supports me, so I practically have to do everything I can to support my family. The paycheck from the pizzeria might seem low but when I checked all other jobs, they paid less. I need this money, as well as you did once. This is important for my kid!" Mike explained.
"Have you even thought it through?" Jeremy shook his head.
"What?"
"Dear god Mike, what happens if you die? What happens to little Mike Jr?" Jeremy asked.
"Well, I'm pretty sure the last of my money will go to him as well as financial services. I already talked to them, everything is set up. I just...don't want to see my kid grow up traumatized, depressed and lonely. He already lost his mother, he can't lose me." Mike sniffled a little, tears strolled down his cheeks.
Jeremy stared at him, sighed and spoke. "Well Mike, if you believe you still have to go then go. Just remember to say your goodbyes to your kid, you don't know what could happen during the last and final night."
"That's what I'm worried about." Mike stood up from his seat, pulled out his hand and shook Jeremy's. "Thanks, at the least, for answering my questions."
"Yeah, please, don't mention it. It's taken me six years to forget what has happened, I want to just forget about it as soon as possible." Jeremy looked down at his coffee.
Mike turned around and started to walk towards the doors, but thought of something. "Wait, Jeremy!"
"Hmm?"
"Phone guy is dead! He got stuffed inside one of those suits!"
"Oh really? Well I'm glad, the bastard deserved it. But, what's your point?" Jeremy sipped his coffee.
"His last phone call, he asked me to check inside those suits if I had time. Maybe, if I break the suits, can the souls be-?"
"Mike, they can't. Souls are doomed to stay until their unfinished business is done, or in this case, someone pays back for what they've done."
"We could just tell the police-"
"Ha! Do you not think I already tried that? Do you even think they'll believe us? They were the ones who came into the pizzeria and assumed immediately it was me. I told them everything, every single thing. Phone guy was there as well, but he never admitted or helped me in any way. So, yeah. P.G is really clever with this plan of his', he knows exactly how to make no one suspect a single thing. It's going to take a lot for P.G to admit he did it, even if he didn't admit it, the story itself is unbelievable."
Mike stared at Jeremy for a minute or two. He didn't want to believe that there was no way to stop P.G, but at the same time, he believed it. "You're right, I'm sorry."
"Hey, I want to stop P.G as well, but he can never be stopped. The clever bastard." Jeremy sipped his coffee.
"Thanks again, for answering my questions. I'm really sorry that you had to experience the B...the incident."
"You're welcome Mike," Jeremy looked down for a moment. "Just please, be careful for tonight."
"I'll try,"
