Mike still remembered his promise, he kept it close to him, but felt that sometimes he would fall from his promise, because he is not that strong and brave.
He also never forgot about that day, that cold, raining day, his father's funeral, the man in purple, he saw his father's murderer at his funeral. He has been searching for this 'man in purple' ever since, never forgetting, and never forgiving.
2013, twenty six years old and still fairly young.
Mike sat on his lumpy couch, looking at his IPhone. The T.V was on but Mike had paid absolutely no attention to it, he was too busy still looking on his Facebook page. Not much appeared on his profile, then again, why would it?
His IPhone whistled, he got a text.
Pointing to the text bubble, he found his best friend texted him. 'Hey Mikey!'
'Hey,' Mike texted back.
'What's up?😋'
'Not quite much, dude. Just still resting lazily at my place.'
'Aw dude, seriously?'
'Yep,'
'Didn't you have that job? I thought you had work today,'
Mike didn't really want to text back about his job. 'Uh, I...I got fired.'
'Dude!😱'
'Sorry, it's not my fault. But in truth, I really hated my cheap-ass boss at that place. It was really his fault I got fired, I did absolutely nothing to be fired for.'
'Doesn't matter! You need a job, dude!'
'Ugh, I'm onto something right now!'
Mike used his feet to kick away a magazine from 1987.
'Mike, you gotta stop this, it's not what your father would have wanted.'
Mike stared at the text, he didn't reply back for a while. It's exactly what his father would have not wanted from his son, but Mike wanted to do this, he had to, he has to find the man in purple, P.G.
'You know I'm not going to listen, dude.'
'God, Mike, you gotta stop doing this to yourself.'
'You were saying about my job?' Mike changed the subject.
'Mike, 😠'
'Go on,'
'Ugh, I was saying before that you should get another job, isn't it that obvious?'
'Jobs are completely shitty and cheap now at days, Daniel.'
'Do I give an absolute fuck? Go find a job Mikey! And I mean Now! You need it! Gotta go man, I'll ttyl.'
Mike shut off his phone, staring at the T.V. His phone whistled again.
'I mean it, go find a job right now. Don't just sit on your ass.'
Mike rolled his eyes as he shut off his phone again. He rose up.
He went to his front door, opening and closing it to pick up the local newspaper. He sat back down on his lazy ass and started to look through the newspaper. He was right, all the jobs in the article were really shitty and quite boring.
That is, except one, he found quite mysteriously interesting.
'COMING SOON! Fazbear's Fright: The Horror Attraction! Local amusement park is getting ready to scare your socks off with a new attraction based on the unsolved mysteries of Freddy Fazbear's Pizza! Featuring actual relics from the decades-old pizzeria, this new attraction is guaranteed to bring back your childhood in the worse way possible!'
Mike stared at the paper.
"What the shit?"
He also remembered Freddy Fazbear's pizzeria, where his father used to work at, the place where they found him dead, the place where his murderer worked at...
Mike called no sooner than when he saw the ad for the attraction. The guy on the phone seemed desperate for a security guard, he immediately hired Mike as soon as he asked for the job.
He didn't really feel right about this job, he didn't feel right about anything actually, he was, lost. Always was lost when since that day, when he found that his father had died. He lost his strength, he lost his courage, he lost everything, but he still remembered the promise he made.
'Promise me,'
----/--
The nightmare had haunted him ever since the loss, dreams of the purple man, his father's death, but he also began to have other dreams as well.
Multiple ones.
Always the same ones that would keep haunting Mike's dreams. Ones that always involved, strange animals. A fox, a bear, a chicken, a rabbit, a little boy, and a puppet.
The first one he had, years and years ago, when he was a small tyke, involved the bear, one with a black top hat and a bow tie.
The bear was in a room, a room with a checkered floor, pizza lying on tables, balloons of all sorts scattered around and...the puppet.
The bear followed the puppet out of the previous room. The bear had kept following the puppet through several rooms. Once they came to another room, the puppet disappeared, all that was there was a man, in purple. After that, everything faded.
The second one was a birthday party, a spectacular one. It was filled with many colours and many cheerful kids.
The bear, held a cake in his hand, walking around to all of the kids, giving cake.
'S-'
Every now and then, in these dreams, Mike would hear, yet it was impossible to hear while dreaming, the letters
'S-A-V-E-T-H-E-M.'
A kid, was outside, not joining the party at all. He sat there, all cold and wet with tears.
The bear started to slow down.
A purple car came, with the purple man. All he did was, grin at the little boy. The boy suddenly started to grin back as well, but as soon as he grinned, he turned gray.
The purple man drove away, leaving a little grey boy, dead no doubt, left alone again. The boy's face then was pale white, he had small, beady, white eyes. His head fell, his smile still wide, his tears turning purple, cheeks red, he turned into a puppet.
The dream faded.
The third one was set in a room with purple curtains, a fox hidden inside. He ran out of his cove and into a room full of kids, they laughed, cheered and smiled when they saw the fox.
It repeated again.
The fox opened the curtains and ran into a party room filled with kids, they cheered and laughed when he came.
But the last time, it repeated, was more gloomy.
A man in purple stood behind the fox, holding a very wide grin. The fox ran into a dark room with kids, but dead. All of them gray, sad, and dead.
The dream faded.
The last dream he had was one with the puppet set in the middle of the room. Four dead children laid scattered around the room. He flew over these four children, giving gifts as he passed. He flew again over these gifts, revealing their presents.
A bear's head, a chicken's head, a rabbit's head and a fox's head appeared out of these gifts. The puppet placed each head onto the heads of the dead children, giving life to them.
The dream faded.
Mike never understood these dreams that were haunting and poisoning his head ever since the death of his father. Mike never understood anything anymore, but something about those animals, that puppet, that purple man, link to something. He must have been dreaming about the pizzeria, about The Bite of 87'.
(Everything started with the Bite. The Real one. Just a replay...nothing else...a replay...nothing else...)
