'The Rave'n is approaching, you know,' Enid spoke to Wednesday, disrupting her precious writing time. She turned her chair around, crossing her arms and staring at Enid.
'Why would I care for something so trivial?' she asked, causing Enid to sigh while sitting down on her bed.
'I am just saying that perhaps you should consider going.'
Wednesday blinked once in confusion as she stared at her roommate, baffled by the notion.
'I have no interest in attending a soiree where the dress code is white, the people are imbeciles and normies are allowed.'
Enid sighed again, clenching her jaw at the obtuse ravenette.
'I know someone who does enjoy the not-so-great soirees. At least, enjoys making fun of them.' she said, turning to Wednesday and crossing her arms. Her reply only left Wednesday more confused.
'If Dahlia likes it, she shall go.' she voiced. 'Now, please stop chatting. I have important issues to deal with.' she turned on her heel, trying to sit back down at her desk.
Enid was fuming at this point, so she grabbed Wednesday by the back of her silk black shirt and pulled her towards her. Wednesday could feel her roommate's claws scratching at her back. Enid forcefully stared into her eyes, clearly and undoubtedly angry.
'You will choose a nice outfit for yourself, get Dahlia a cute gift and invite her to the Rave'n Wednesday, or else I promise you that I will kill you and bury you with a broken record player so that the records of Katy Perry will play in your eardrums over and over for all eternity.' Enid threatened Wednesday, shaking her shoulders as the brunette stared at her, shocked. Enid finally let her go, trying to compose herself. 'Are we in an agreement?'
Wednesday blinked, surprised. ' I suppose.'
'That's enough. For now.' Enid said, turning back to her bed to go to sleep, as Wednesday finally sat down, staring at the paper caught in her typewriter, trying to think back to the idea she had before Enid's interruption.
As the two girls were sitting in silence, with Enid not yet sleeping, Wednesday heard a slight shuffling down the corridor, followed by a low knock on the door. Knowing exactly who it was, she went to open the door, surprised to see a very panicked and muddy Thing, desperately trying to communicate something to her. She picked him up, trying to understand what he was trying to tell her.
'What happened and why did you leave the room without me knowing?' she asked sternly. Thing finally succeeded to tell her about how he got out of the room, and in Wednesday's mind, something finally clicked. 'Thing, where is Dahlia?' she found herself panicking as well, and her anxiety did not get any better as Thing finally confessed. Wednesday's eyes widened as she scrambled to grab her checkered coat, the one closest to her bed. Suddenly, a strange howl echoed in the distance, causing her heart to race. Without hesitation, she grabbed Thing and her flashlight and rushed out into the yard of Nevermore, determined to find her beloved.
As she made her way towards the gates, she heard more strange sounds, this time resembling animal grunts and huffs. Her hands shook uncontrollably as she struggled to unlock the gates with a pin from her hair. Stray hairs fell on her face, impairing her vision, and her mind was foggy with fear.
Finally, she managed to open the gates and sprinted towards the forest, not caring which direction she was heading. Her flashlight illuminated the area, but her panicked mind imagined the worst-case scenario.
