Wednesday was engrossed in her writing, her fingers tapping away at the typewriter as she worked on her novel. Across the room, Dahlia and Enid were engaged in a different kind of activity. Enid was painting her nails in a rainbow of pastel colours, while Dahlia watched on with a sigh, not particularly enjoying it.
'You're lucky I like you,' Dahlia muttered, half-jokingly. Enid grinned, putting the finishing touches on her nails just as an alarm on her phone went off.
'You're going to be late,' Wednesday reminded her of her hangout with Yoko. With a nod, Enid grabbed her backpack and headed out the door, leaving Dahlia and Wednesday alone.
Dahlia was still sitting on her bed, her hands awkwardly positioned as she waited for her nails to dry. Wednesday walked over to her, a look of disapproval on her face.
'You should have said no,' she said bluntly. Dahlia sighed, knowing that Wednesday was right.
'I can't say no to her,' she chuckled, shaking her hands. Wednesday took her wrist, pulling out a bottle of nail polish remover and a black polish from her pocket.
'Can you say no to me?' she asked, a mischievous glint in her eye. Dahlia's heart skipped a beat as Wednesday took her hands in hers. With a gentle touch, Wednesday retrieved some cotton swabs and began removing the rainbow colours from Dahlia's nails. A grimace formed on Wednesday's face as she worked. The goth raised her gaze to look at her beloved, her eyes meeting Dahlia's as she smiled, grateful for the gesture. Wednesday felt her face warm up slightly as she blinked at her lover, admiring her beauty. Her gaze settled on Dahlia's red lips, which she longed to kiss.
Without hesitation, Wednesday leaned in and captured Dahlia's lips, closing her eyes and tightening her grip on Dahlia's wrist. Dahlia reciprocated by placing her other hand on Wednesday's cheek, feeling the goth's small smile against her lips.
After a few moments of blissful kissing, they pulled away, gasping for air. Wednesday continued to stare at her beloved, her skilled hands expertly removing the rainbow colours from Dahlia's nails and replacing them with her signature black polish. In Wednesday's mind, the black nails symbolized her claim over Dahlia.
Dahlia's heart raced with excitement as she watched Wednesday's gentle touch. It was as if she was handling something incredibly precious that could shatter at any moment. Wednesday's concentration was palpable as she expertly painted her nails a deep, rich black. Dahlia couldn't help but admire her. From her long, luscious lashes that fell over her eyes to her soft black eyeshadow and full, inviting lips, Dahlia was captivated by every inch of Wednesday's beauty. Even the way her bangs fell over her eyes was enchanting. To Dahlia, Wednesday was perfect in every way. She found herself swooning over the small things, like the way Wednesday wore the checkered sweater that Dahlia had picked out for her or the way she always kept one of her sketches on her desk. It was enough to make her heart skip a beat.
'There, ready for the Rave'N tonight,' Wednesday pulled away, raising Dahlia's hand, showing her the perfect manicure she had given her. Dahlia smiled, shaking her hands, waiting for her nails to dry.
'Thank you, cara mia.' Dahlia leaned in and pressed a tender kiss to Wednesday's forehead, causing the goth to turn away in a futile attempt to conceal the blush that had crept up her cheeks. With a gentle tug, Dahlia pulled Wednesday's wrist towards her lips, planting a soft kiss on her knuckles. Wednesday blinked in surprise, her gaze fixed on Dahlia's face as she pulled away, still holding her lover's wrist.
