"Uh, yeah it's me. You seem disappointed."

You just slowly nodded.

"Uh...P...Paint right?" The guy looked at you before blinking and chuckling. It wasn't that funny so why on earth was he laughing at you?

"Ink. I haven't formally met you so, my name's Ink. What's yours?" He held his hand out for you to shake, and you took it hesitantly and said yours in response. He nodded thoughtfully.

"Nice name. So, how did this...er...situation occur?" He said, referring to the fiasco you had just barely gotten away from. It was really lucky this guy had dragged you away minutes before it might've gotten gruesome and you might've been hurt quite badly.

You explained the recent events, such as how you were seen in front of a bar yesterday, and they assumed you had some sort of association with the situation at the bar and began to chase you down. Ink just stood listening to your explanation thoughtfully, and you noticed something. Whenever he blinked, his eyelights changed. Not just colours, but also shape. It was interesting to say the least, and it suited his whole colourful persona.

"Oh, yeah. That makes sense, the humans in this AU are still getting used to monsters being up here as they only came up a few months ago. Shame. But you're out of it now, let's go." He said, beginning to walk for a bit before turning back around after realising you weren't following him.

"And what makes you think I would want to go with you?" He stood for a moment at your remark, clearly in thought. Did he just expect you to come with him willingly? You had just met this guy yesterday.

"Uh yeah? Don't you wanna go home?"

"I mean I do...But what if I wanted to stay here? Or go somewhere else?"

After a tense silence between you two, he let out a chuckle and shook his head.

"Oh no no no. Human, you don't understand this entire concept. You can't stay here, this isn't your universe. You staying here would be a disturbance to the multiverse's balance."

"...Multiverse?"

Ink nodded once again, clearing his throat as if to prepare for a speech. Oh god, he probably was going to go into a speech. Maybe you shouldn't've questioned it-

"Multiverse, a noun meaning a realm containing multiple universes in one. There is more than one universe, in fact several. Each universe is created differently from the last, as the creators are each different people with different ideas to contribute. You are currently in the original universe, the universe as to which every other universe was based on. And with the help of me, these universes have been created."

"So, there's more than one different universe?"

"Yes, more than one Alternate Universe. You seem interested, human. I'm assuming you'd like to see some of these universes?"

You stayed silent. How on earth did he know your intentions? He seemed to recognise your silence as a yes and began to laugh wholeheartedly.

"You humans are all too similar. Come, I'm sure you already know what to do." He said, his hand had reached out towards his large brush, which he always seemed to carry around, and he took it outwards. With a final change of eyelights, he swiped the brush, and a puddle had been drawn with...No ink... Though Ink was there...So it was with Ink but using no ink.

"Follow me!" He grinned, his head turning back to look at you from over his shoulder, before he saluted and jumped through the puddle. You just stood there, still trying to decipher how on earth these puddles even worked. They defied all physics, because the puddles were meant to rest on something for it to actually stay on the floor? And how did you come out of it standing upwards when you jumped into it?
