Return on Investment
(Word count: ~2.3k)Synopsis:
Even if Pantalone is one of the richest people in Teyvat, no amount of gold coins could fill the gaping hole in his heart for what used to be known as love.TW: Violence/killing
...
"Pantalone you can't just buy the whole company just to fire the cashier you encountered today!"
"And why not? I do have enough money, yes?"
"Not your money. The Fatui's money. The Tsaritsa and Pierro will be furious once they find out!"
(Y/N) and Pantalone have been arguing like this ever since The Tsaritsa herself personally appointed (Y/N), the overseer of all the Fatui's finances — their treasurer— to teach the new harbinger about his line of work. Pantalone was still new at this as well as the power to be in control of so much money. Whenever he had any little problem, he'll simply be able to buy the whole thing and do whatever he wished with it. 'But clearly, he doesn't know the difference between the difference of his money and the whole of Snezhnaya's money' (Y/N) thought. Not like it mattered, because the pay for a harbinger -- especially one of that status -- was quite a handsome amount indeed. Even (Y/N) didn't get paid that much and they were considered the brains behind all of the Fatui's moves because he had access to all the region's funds at his will, and he was managing it splendidly.
Yet The Tsaritsa still felt it necessary to appoint the Regrator to manage central funds as well and told (Y/N) to teach him. They were told something along the lines of "easing your workload". Sure there was a good amount of work that came with the job but it was nothing they couldn't manage. So why have someone else do it?
Regardless, (Y/N) was in no position to question The Tsaritsa's orders. Not to mention that they enjoyed their time with the Regrator.
Sometimes...

"Are you even paying attention?! Keeping the supply-chain steady is crucial in bringing in profits, got it? Hey!Stop staring at me like that!" Yelled (Y/N) as they tried to get Pantalone to focus on the task at hand. A lot of the times he would get sidetracked and (Y/N) is trying to fix that nasty habit. No successful banker and financier does business while ignoring the papers.
"I just can't take my eyes off you. screw supply and demand, the only thing I demand is you." Pantalone replied slyly, trying to get some sort of expression out of (Y/N).
"Maybe if you stared at the reports given by the agents like you stare at me you'd be done with the learning process and can move on to actually banking."
"But that means I won't be seeing you as often which makes me sad. Surely sad banker is not an efficient banker by any means, no?"
"You-"
The exchange went on for a while. This was one of the reasons (Y/N) despises teaching Pantalone. They were dating which means he would not hesitate to show how much he loved and appreciated them -- which (Y/N) is happy about -- but there must be a better time to show that to them than when they're teaching him. Surely.
So on the lesson dragged. It was a one-sided conversation for both of them. One talked about consumer loyalty within a business and the other went on to make corny pickup lines and jokes every now and then that were unresponded to.
"Alright I'm done. Everything I've explained is in this folder and those stacks of papers are this month's finance reports. You should look over them." (Y/N) said as they stood up to leave.
